Nicely done. Good series of pics. I was thinking of posting similar shots, but my bathroom decided to spring a leak last night. So I have another "hobby" to deal with right now - plumbing. Hooray.

Hello guys.
There's similar discussion regarding this model on the russian forum: http://vif2ne.ru/smf/forum/12/co/309213.htm
And some modellers who are familiar with the T-64's MBT line already found some issues of the model that are seen on the photos. For instance the driver's hatch is too small (the same as in SKIF's kit). You can see this on the picture below:
So may be Trumpeter will have opportunity to double check the model and fix issues before the kit will go into production.
Thanks

Hi, Guys, please be aware that these turrets of that picture are from T-72s, not T-64s. One can tell this from the Lunar search light is on the right hand side, not the left side as any T-64 should be. Though the lights are missing in the picture, the attachment points and cables still can tell they are on the right side.

Yes I agree, they are 72 turrets!

Regarding the "various modifications = various turrets" I have to say that aside from detail, overall shape of all T-64A and T-64B turrets is the same, including hardness of edges.
However yes, I too think that edges should be softer in proximity to the gun. And I am bothered not only by edges, overall shape seems to be not so accurate. I particularly do not like angles of this turret's front. Probably it would be wise to accumulate a photo collection and try to outline general shape, something like that:
I am not saying that this is the right shape, it's just an example, however my idea should be clear - this turret is more sophisticated than just slightly distorted cylinder.
As for T-72 turret - it's similarity to T-64 is not coincidental, since it was designed to have generally the same shape. In fact first production batches of T-72 had turrets converted from T-64A by the addition of extra bulge at the rear to fit new autoloader:
Later ural started producing it's own turrets of slightly different shape. Aside from larger bustle I have noticed one technologically irrelevant distinction which is a long vertical surface at the side which T-64 lacks:
Here you can find walkarounds of Object 172 and early production T-72 which have T-64A mod.69 and T-64A mod.72 turrets respectively, so you can freely use those as a reference:

These two pictures should be useful too:

Very nice work Alphonse...I appreciate you taking time to point that out. That should at least offer some help to Trumpeter if they are going to make the kit accurate. I know I for one do not want to drop $50 on a new T-64 kit only to have to drop $50 more on a correct resin turret because Trumpeter did not get it correct.
