Michael ,,, ok thats good news ..solo for me it is ,,seems tho that the Tiger/ Firefly idea seems to be a fav lol ..oh must be a good thing then but i am still open to choices ... still going with my Firefly ..its a Tasca kit so damn skippy thats going in ,,got a Arber PE set for it and RB Models 17 pounder barrel to ..its a shame that Osprey dont so a Sherman vs Panzer 4 L70 ..that would be sweet ..i have the hull for one ( scored of a mate who lost all the parts )

could build something pretty sweet from that ..i've got a massive pile of Panzer 4 parts ,could explain why i have so many of them i think ..oh well
Would be kinda cool for Osprey to offer up some prizes ,,but for the fun side of it ..soon as we make this a full blown comp all the fun will go out the window .i think i should win the prize for the model built the longest distance away from Osprey's offices
Here in New Zealand we're closer to the moon than to anything else
I know the voices ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas

Nope. I will send a PM to those waiting for the fix when I verify that it is working again.

OK, I’ve heard from Osprey. They seem to be very open to us doing this and have given us their blessing. They’ve also indicated that they would be happy to publicize it on their blog as well. They did tell me that they’re (understandably) a little bit touchier about the idea of using their logo if we want to put it in the banner and/or ribbon. What they’re asking is that if we do use it we include the name “Osprey” and they would like to see any proposed design to see if they have a problem with it.
I, for one, don’t have any problem with their requests and will be happy to forward them whatever we come up with. As for designing the ribbon and banner, this word was what I was waiting for. Now that we have some parameters from Osprey, I’m officially asking if anyone has ideas about how the banner and ribbon might look. Let us know what you’ve got and we can see what we like, then I’ll send it off to them.
Thanks, sounds like we’ve got a great start on this one already!

Michael,
This is really great news!! OK, now for the banner i had an idea
1- Two tanks opposing eachother and the backgroundcolor split in half with one side red and the other side blue.
2- The name ''Osprey" in black or white and the backgroundcolor split in half with one side red and the other side blue.
Osprey did a lot for this hobby and is actually a standard book in our library...
Just my two cents...

Remco,
My only concern is that this campaign is KitMaker wide, so using tanks may turn some wingy-thingy and floaty guys off. I was thinking of something like crossed swords or the cross-hairs Osprey uses. But keep the ideas coming!

Duncan, More proof that what you put on the internet stays on the internet. That's an old site! Now they're at
Duel Series.
Everyone,
Here are a couple of ribbon ideas I had.

I haven’t submitted them to Osprey yet, thought I’d see what you all thought first. They’re kind of hard to read at ribbon size, though:

I’m certainly open to ideas from the rest of you!! Remember, if we use their logo, Osprey wants us to include their name as well. Let's see what you've got!

that link doesn't work

here it is
Duel series They are kind of hard to read at ribbon size. Speaking only for myself I like the campaign ribbons to be more graphic - maybe just use part of the logo on it's own
or if you're not tied to the idea of using the logo maybe something like this

Here is my simpler ribbon design.

I am not sure if you can tell that those are dueling pistols.

I might try making the "DUEL" smaller so I can have the pistols pointing at each other.

Man, I love this site! Gary Kato had a couple of possible ribbon designs:

And Pat McGrath suggested an actual header from a Duel advertisement that I cut back and made a ribbon from:

I quite like that one and Osprey should too. They’re all better than the original ones I made! What do you all think?

I think this one is a winner if you can get the letters (especially for "Osprey") to stand out more fro the background.

Michael the third one is a winner .. nice colours and its much better than the other two ..not putting other peoples work down but they look kinda easy if ya know what i mean ..the third is a true beauty ..nicely done that one

Pat had a good idea and your idea nailed it

It has been suggested, with justice!, that my modification of Pat’s design was good but still a bit hard to see. I tried taking the shading out and just making it white on black, how does this look?

The shading is what makes it so good ,, its boring just being black and white ,hows about putting the shading back in but making it a little lighter for all the blind buggers out there ( myself included ) with my glasses i can see the shaded version without any problems at all ..so make it alittle lighter and then we get the best of both worlds

Phill,
I like the shading too but lack the skill/software to do it lighter. If anyone else wants to have a crack at it that's fine with me. If you need the original large graphic with the darker shading, let me know.

And, having said that (above), here's my poor attempt. I tried lightening the shading and making the background crosshairs white:

Given how small it is, there's only so much we can do. But again, if anyone has better software and/or skill at this, have at it! Me, I'm gonna go build a model!
Let me know!
