hi artyom im building the same kit so will be following your build.thanks for the heads up on the RB gun was gunna get that for my kit.also was something not to your likeing with the hobbyboss tracks as you went for friuls(i no they are nice tracks but at a nice cost

It is very good that my build log will be useful for you. Unfortunately RB is not so good,so as Armorscale. Friul is expensive,but they are most accurate. Modelkasten and Hobby Boss have mistakes. So to build a Cromwell is not so easy as I thiught in the beginning.

I continue to work with details.
The Aber front tow cable fixer was incorrect, so I decided to build scratch one. I wasn't easy but I am happy with a result.
While nuts and rivets are on their way to me,I have started to work with rear. Aber screws and PE for Cromwell.

After very long pause, I have cotinued my work with Cromwell. I have decided to go further with detalisation. So, this is my results.

This looks brilliant. Amazing attention to detail. I do have just one query though, regarding the title. You have it labelled as 'A27L Cromwell Mk.IV'. I thought the 'L' suffix indicated a Liberty engine, which would make it a Centaur... If it's a Cromwell, it surely ought to be an A27M (for Meteor)?

Greetings,Phil! Thank you! You are right. It is a mistake. I know that many Cromwells Mk.IV were modernised from Centaurs Mk.I and Mk.II.
So, I don't know how to correct mistake on the title=(

Hello, John! To be true, I did not count. Hungreds....and many types of them.
For example. Some Masterclub rivets were drilled foк hex rivets(bolts)imitation.

I understand. You will need two sets. App. 15-20 per cents were lost on my carpet
,so I have bought two of them. That is very sad that Masterclub still ignoring this type of screw heads. Several times I have written to it's owner,but no result yet. JSSVIII

Hello! Next stage - side skirts. The were made from plastic,copper and aluminium foil. I have tried to make some damages and to do them alike Viller's Bocage Cromwells. The work is incomplete,because I need to buy some nuts to put them on the shelve rear side.

I think this takes super detailing and quality of workmanship to an entirely new level of excellence.

Thank you,John! I have tried to make splasher from copper too, but failed. Aluminium foil is more sculpturesque.

I had a look at the Cromwell and Centaur Dozer at Bovington at the weekend. The various screw heads you mention are almost completely invisible under a layer of paint on those vehicles. They fit their holes so closely that there are no discernible gaps around them, are recessed about 1mm below the surface and the slots seem to fill easily with paint. I had to bend down to let the light catch them to even see them.
I think on my Centaur I might try just drilling very slight dimples and scribing the screw slots. Assuming I ever get round to building it, that is. Going back to A27L vs A27M, RMASG Centaur IVs were re-fitted with Meteor engines before D Day and technically became Cromwells but retained their Centaur designation. They were only in action for about 10 days and were never used again, so I don't suppose anyone was bothered.
