Jon, I did the half track Bedford because I like prototypes that were actually built ...

The resin wheels are a former Brazilian manufacturer ...My Peerless kit was incomplete...

About coupling, I found this pics about Tasker semipermanent coupling:

Notice in the photos, the same air tube that connects the base of thecoupling to the trailer.

Ok...More advances:

Making the Tasker ball-type coupling:

Twenty degrees of rotation, only:

And the spare wheels support, articulate, for painting reasons:

Just ran across your Bedford build. Really enjoyed my 1st run through. Your skills are certainly well beyond what's needed to produce an outstanding model. Looking forward to following your build, Right now I'm going back and studying your work.

Hello Marcos.

Great work on your Bedford. I too would like to see them released by big manufacturers, but in 1/35 please!

Have you ever got the dimensions of that box on the back of the truck? Or the wheelbase of that type of chassis? England is a land of narrow roads with tight corners and having only 20 degrees of movement side-to-side would have meant that truck would get stuck every other day on a sharp corner. I have a feeling the box may be narrower than on your truck, or your chassis is not long enough. Have a look at that side diagram and it looks like the distance between the box and trailer appears bigger than on your model.

It could also be that the trailer box is too wide as in the photo in the start of the blog the trailer sides 'appear' to be no wider than outside of the wheels, possibly even a little narrower.

Keep up the great work mate.

Hi Marcos

I tend to wonder also about that 20 degree turn as the pivot point looks deliberately far back to accommodate a complete 90 degree. Even looking at your photo the boxes look flush with the wheel arches and that takes a lot of the width away in itself.

Articulated lorries had been about for quite some time so I would not think they would have built in such a deliberate restriction that would have made even the simplest of reversing maneuver so quick to foul.

Marcos
I don`t think the problem lies with the trailer, i believe the problem is that the cargo body behind the cab is too large, it looks out of proportion to the one in the photographs which seem to have a smaller all round profile, other than that keep up the good work, i`m in awe of your skills

Dear Marcos,

The problem you face with the semi-trailer is almost certain due to two facts:
1. the platform is too long backward and 2. too wide.
Have a look at some pictures of this semi-trailer, both on the web and in the book 'The observer's Fighting Vehicles Directory WW II', by Bart H. Vanderveen, pag -179-. The platform does not be wider than the fuel tanks and the back is more towards the front.
But, please, do not feel offended: you may have opened a breech towards more GB trucks. The Bedford QLF could be seen as tractor, truck, half-track (you already made a master!), the 'giraffe' and the armoured version. Would help us more than another one-piece-ever-build-german-AFV, would it?
Looking forward to see more,

salute.

Hi Marcus,

Looking at the pics your cargo box is just a little long. Best I can tell from the pic is that it finished just short of the end of the fuel tanks. If you look at the 2nd picture of the truck you posted; in that one it looks to be narrower, with the side further in, where as in the first pic it is sitting as you have made it!

As far as I can tell your trailer placement would be spot on if the cargo box was slightly smaller.

Always had to judge froma picture.
