Hay gang, I received the new Revell Boxer GTK for Christmas and thought I would do a build log for you all of this kit. I will start building in the next few days when I get a new desk lamp as mine gave up the ghost last week
By sudzonic at 2011-12-26

Sounds interesting as it is the production type unlike its Asian competitor.

It has two German versions, one in three colour NATO and one for the Afghan desert 3 colour scheme.

Hi Paul,
No the GTK Boxer could only be build as the German version. There are markings for 3 vehicles from Jägerbataillon 292 at the GÜZ Training Area and Donau-eschingen respectivly and one vehicle from Afghanistan. The problem that the vehicle from Jägerbataillon 292 are A0 version with the lower mount for the FLW 200 RWS. And the vehicle from Afghanistan is the A1 version, but it lacks several details, all of them are classified, so that you won`t see any pictures of the just now.

Hi Guys,
just wait a few weeks as I am preparing a reference DVD as a joint venture with a well-known company.
I photographed the GTK Boxer A0 Armored Personnel Carrier version as well as the only GTK Boxer A1 based in Germany. The A1 version features a raised FLW 200 RWS, mine protection plate and some other features. Some areas of the vehicle are still classified.
Additionally I already photographed the GTK Boxer Command Vehicle. Just visit my website www.tank-masters.de and you will find some inspiration.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hi Scott,
I prefer the Leopard 2A6 from Tamiya. Right now I build the Leopard 2A6M CAN with Slat Armor.
The FLW 200 of the Revell model really sucks. Maybe some aftermarket companies like Perfect Scale or Y-Modelle will release a better FLW 200 for the Revell model.
Cheers,
Ralph

No comparison here with Tamiya, Scott is reviewing a 72nd scale and not a 35th.
I'm building this in Canadian Leo 2 A6M in 1/72nd and you can see my build log in braille scale section with full scratchbuild slats ofcoarse. Thiis is the best Leo 2 A6M in this scale!

Hi Scott,
I recommend getting Djiti`s Production resin tyres. If you wnat to build the Afghanistan version, you need to install the towing cable on the right side of the vehicle and a rack for two water cans on the left rear side similar to a Stryker.
Cheers

I'll be watching with interest Scott. There is something about the overall shape of the Boxer that appeals to me: it wouldn't look out of place in a sci-fi flick.
With regards to your desk lamp: have you tried replacing the bulb and/or fuse? ;-)

Let me know how the fit of the module is to the vehicle- I have both mostly assembled but when I tried to put the two together, I was getting a 2mm gap around the whole thing. I figure I am going to have to sand to get it to fit. Jus twondering if I did something wrong .

Except 2mm at 35th scale is 7cm. You might want to do a little sanding....

It looks, so I understand, that you do not completely understand the Boxer concept: The base of the vehicle allows several variations of the box after the engine and drivers compartment such as an command modul, ambulance version, recovery etc. Just google 'boxer ifv' and you see that your 'gap' has a reason!
No offence,

Good news gang, I purchased a new lamp this morning but in my post late shift followed by early morning shift at work zombie state I managed to buy the wrong bulb! I will get the right one tomorrow after work and get cracking on the build.
I have to agree on the futuristic look of the boxer it could lend it's self very well to what if subjects

No offence taken. I understand the concept, however the gap in the model looks like a gap from a poor fit. I should have posted a picture
