Hi guys !

Some photos of my recent build trumpeters Karl Morser Gerat in 1:35 scale.

The kit is quite good quality. Very well molded and fitted. Waiting for you comments.

Cheers

She's a beauty! Looking very nice and I love the gray paint you chose.

I want one ... maybe someday.

Thanks
These are Friulmodel metal tracks. Rubber trakcs from the kit weren't looking too good.

Kit detail is very nice. Is it better than Dragon's?

I've didn't seen Dragon kit. But from what I've had heard Trumpeters kit is much better than dragon. It's better detailed and fitted. I think you can see quite good comparision of these two here http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/trumpeter/tr00209.html

Peter, your Karl is looking real good I am just wrapping up the 54 cm 1 in tri color camo. Will you be using any figures with yours I'm going with a mix of the ones that came with the kit and Dragons Karl Morser Crew. Looking forward to seeing the finished product

I don't think that I will make any figures for Karl. I simply can't in paint them right.

Meanwhile I've finished the painting of the hull. I think it looks pretty good.

Peter, looks great. I have one of these lurking on the "to be built" shelf. As far as the wash, I think it looks dead on. Just my opinion.

Very sweet job, I think it is turning out wonderful.
I assume you used pre-shading?

I have the dragon one hiding in my stash waiting to be built. It would be nice if there were some aftermarket decals for it (for the various notice signs) as the dragon has only some of the most basic.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks guys

I've didn't use preshading. I've started painting with german grey from Vallejo air and layer after layer I was adding a bit of Light grey also from Vallejo until I've used only light grey. After painting I've applied blue and purple filter.

Nice job Piotrek on the build, weathering, fading etc, but from what I have read on line they weren't used a lot so there was a long time between deployments where they were kept in large sheds or under Camouflaged tarps, and the crews had plenty of time on their hands to keep them looking spick and span, maybe a little bit of dust and mud on the lower surfaces and wear on the heavy traffic areas would look more appropriate when they were actually deployed, like in a diorama situation.
To each his own I suppose, but all the same a brilliant job done.
Cheers

Looks fantastic -- it's too bad after the initial excitement of Trumpeter and DML's releases, few people actually BUILT them! Bravo!

My only comment would be the amount of mud on the suspension. The Morsers were only driven from railheads to an appropriate area to fire -- and shifted slightly for aiming purposes. The mobility of the Morsers wasn't meant to be going over terrain such as a typical tracked vehicle. Just an observation.

There was a special carrier designed for rail transport so the BR52 is definitely possible; you just need to find the kit (which I believe came with a mortar but not separately).
