Started in to putting a Revell 1/35 Crusader Mk3 together tonight whilst waiting for paint/cement on other things to dry (bad habit or perfectly normal ?). Got everything out of box, laid out sprues, checked instruction sheet and lifted cutters.Guess what ? No part numbers on the frames apart from the 3 figures included with the kit. Anyone else encountered this ?

Some of the Games Workshop kits I've be doing recently are like that too.

They are pretty simple so not as big a drama as something as complex as a tank but even so it is VERY off putting.

Seems odd that something as big and a s complex as that would rely on visual ident of the parts.

First time I've come across it, so should make for an 'interesting' build to say the least ! A lot of trial and hopefully not too much error !

I built and Italeri Mercedes Benz L 3000 truck a few months ago and the spruces were lettered but the parts were not numbered That was the 1st time that I ran into that situation even trying to remember back to when I was a kid all parts were numbered

I've only run across that problem on a couple of occasions. Lots of test fitting and experimenting and even then mistakes were made. It is definitely a trial in patience.

Typical older habit with Italeri kits. Parts diagram usually on second page, with the numbers, but not on the sprues. Also typical on many older Eastern European kits.

I'll just use a marker on a corner of the sprue to mark its orientation to the diagram, making finding the parts easier. (especially the smaller parts, as it can become rather difficult to find them after a lot of parts start getting removed from the sprue.)

Assembly has been going well so far, lower hull, roadwheels/drive sprockets/idler's done. Some instruction diagrams not as clear cut as they could be. Lot's of little tie downs/grab handles that will hopefully escape the carpet monster.....
