Those sound good to me !!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you reckon for the start date ????????????? Not too far off I hope !!!!!!!!!!

Don't want to suffer too much from premature build syndrome !!!!! But I do want to get started on my next project !!!!

Good campaigning folks !!!!!!!!

Nige

Well, according to most here a later start like next year looks more appropriate.

You do remember Phill saying "One thing which will help i think is letting in partial builds" This would mean that you could organize and actually work on your project before the start date.

We do need at least one more member to show interest before submitting and we need everyone's okay if what we have discussed so far is going to work out. I don't want to sound as though I am taking over, I just want to see this thing happen. I don't mind being second best, so I can see Phill being the Campaign Leader!

It's only been up a couple of days and with it being the weekend and Mothers Day on top of all that, we should see more interest with the remainder of the week.

I know having Jeff as my 2IC, its all good and considering we are both not totally right in the brain pan this will be a really good fun campaign ,,thats all the matters really at the end of the day .
I did mention partial builds not only for me but i will bet there is some blokes out there with something started and never completed ,,makes life better for some ..my self included .

Obviously I'm missing something here.

Personally I don't care if you get "Kapitan Kangaroo" to head the campaign, let's just do it!

Jeff T., happy to have you in the lead.

Okay! We have our 10th victim, err ... I mean member to show interest in this Campaign! We'll take good care of you Jeff T., so just relax and build yourself silly!

So, if we all agree a run time of 1 year to 18 months, starting date of 12-30-12 OR 1-1-13.

Can use existing builds that are already started but not more than 50% built. Civilian vehicles/aircraft welcomed as well.

CAN show the original box and all AM parts used in build. Scratch building is most encouraged!

Armor and soft skins are in the 1/24 to 1/16 scale range.

Aircraft to be in the 1/32 to 1/16 range.

MUST show progress pictures through out the duration of the Campaign.

An image of your final build must be uploaded into the Large Scale Armor Build Campaign photo gallery.

And this of course, the BIG rule governing THIS campaign is to have fun!

Let's let the Large Scale Models rule the Campaign area for a year!

If all looks okay and our Campaign Guru has nothing to add I'll submit this tomorrow afternoon and see how it goes.

Everything is great there mate my only concern is the above bit ,,what if there is no box to be shown ,like that the boxes that my 1/16th panzer III's came in (thats right i have 2 ) were huge so got chucked dew to there size ,,hows ya thinking we get around that bud ?

That's why I used the word "CAN" and not MUST. It would just be nice to see how it's boxed and not just the project item. It's great to know what the box looks like in case it can still be purchased.

Not a big deal but still a good question!!

We can just leave that off then, it is not the intention that it's required, just thought those that looked in could know what the item looked like.

Just an FYI guys,

I have an origional Tamiya 1/25 Panther that I am willing to part with. This kit is complete and all the parts are still in the origional unopend bags. This one is motorized and yes the parts are all there.

I'm thinking of building my 1/24 Bandai Panther for this campaign so if I do the Tamiya kit is just going to sit there collecting dust so I'd rather it go to someone that will build it.

If anyone is interested in it IM me and we'll talk. If I get more than one taker I will treat them on a first come first serve basis.

Good deal Anthony, you've made it 11 members now!

It has been submitted and waiting to hear from our Campaign Leader, Gary. So here's the run down of who's on board!

I'd like to see a 1/25th Chieftain built here Anthony! They are very interesting!

And Monte, I'd like to take you up on your offer on the Tamiya Panther A, but I'm all tapped out! (for now)

Gents... I am thinking about Tamiya's 1/25th Centurion #30614.I can get it for a pretty good price. How is this kit and what does it come with? All the discriptions I have found do not really tell Me anything.
I'm also having a hard time finding vendors that have a good stock of the bigger stuff.Who do you guys order from? Thanks,Jeff T.

Well, it builds the Mk.III version that had the 20 pounder barrel and all that is being sold new nowadays is the static version.

It does have a partial interior ... engine and radiator details with the turret having some features along with the gun/breach also. That interior is molded in lighter colors for the average modeler not having to paint it.

If you can get it for under $90 I think would be a good deal having built the remote-controlled version in the 70's and now having one here in storage yet to be built.

I believe I have ALL the Tamiya 1/25th tank kits except for the Tiger I, but I did build it as the remote-controlled version way back when.

Here's a link that shows the interior built:
http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35578&mode=threaded

Can't think of much else.

That's cool Mike!

I'm still shopping for one (a 1/32nd aircraft) and have been on the look out for an F-105 Thunderchief, either the Wild Weasels version or the single seater. Doesn't matter.

Might even build a reasonably priced bi-plane, side-by-side with the Thud just for scale purposes only.

(where is everyone at?)
