Here are Syrians from the Yom Kippur war. They actually appear to be T-54s, but the color schemes and stowed kit would be identical to the 55s used during the same battles.
Cheers !!

In the site you can find also some other pics about Russian tanks employed during lots of conflicts

Maybe not the one you're looking for....but quite close

It's an Ethiopian T-55 in Somalia (February 2012)

Another one :

@ Mauro

Thank you so much for those I am just about sold on that field applique armour!! The look style & colour are just great!! I have the older tamiya version of the T55, what would be needed to make it a polish version?? Before adding that I-bar armour & "schurtzen"

@ Frenchy

Once again thank you for all your help with the photos, I will admit that ethiopian one is different from what I did see but also very very cool & colourful, now I have to toss up with what you & Mauro have sent me.

In the great pics which Frenchy has posted, you can see an Ethiopian modernization of the T-55

If you are interested about you can look here

http://otvaga2004.mybb.ru/viewtopic.php?id=223&p=32

(looking down in the page you can find a short walkaround)

They seem to be derived from Russian and Czech made t-55s

Regarding the Polish made t-55 look here

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/166379

and here

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/167910&page=1

Anyway, if you need some other explanations about the differences let me know

Mauro,

Thank you very much!! I will look at the details in more depth,in the next few days, so from what I have seen read so far, I will not only need to redo the engine deck, but also change the drive sprockets & tracks is that correct??

And would the mig productions fuel cell & line set also be correct for this type of vechile? I am also looking at an after market barrel.

Yes it is. Miniarm produces the correct track links and provides the sprocket wheel

Fuel cell lines are equal for all the t-55, so you can't go wrong with them

Anyway, Mig lines are quite wrong

Aber makes the best one

https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/Aber+135+D10T+100mm+Barrel+for+T55/98/

Tamiya kit has a two pieces molded barrel, which cold give you some problems. However it isn't incorrect

You're welcome

As I have never done any scratch building / especially of anything like a whole engine deck is their much involved??

And do you believe a first timer could make it??

Well, it mightn't be too difficult for a beginner in my opinion. You have just to make a different part to substitute the Tamiya one, and make some jobs on the rear grilles.

Now i have to leave my computer, when I have more time I'll explain better

Cheers

Ps..For a Polish T-55, you have also ti change the gun mantlet

Polish one is shorter and smoother

Don't worry!

It'll be a great occasion to start doing some scratch built jobs!

The main job that you have to do is modifying (or scratch making) the part D-41 of the kit

D-41 part modified by Matt (aka Kharkov) :

Here you can find a great thread about a build of a Polish T-55

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/176707&ord=&page=1

Matt's been doing a great job on it!

Unfortunately I'm very busy these days, but this week I'll probably have a little time to spend.
I'll send you a PDF drawing in 35 scale of the modified D-41 part and rear grilles

Regarding the Libyan exemplar look here
