Quoted Text
Yup, it is Dave! And in honor of that I suggest the ribbon have the initials R.C. on it!
But seriously, I'm far from a rivet counter. I did start this up as a historical campaign, for me research is part of modelling, and is fun. :-)
With the time frame being it now D+3 or D+9, there are more then enough subjects to choose from, axis and allied, with wading gear or without. So, the only thing I'm asking is that the model and particular variant saw action in Normandy at or around DDay. And that you can document it. Doesn't need to be a picture, a text quote can be more then enough.
If you can show me that a char B1 bis was in action on dday, I'll approve it. :-) if you make a great diorama with figures storming the beaches, where the only armour are the hedgehogs on the beach, I'll approve it. If oyu make a great bunker with the turret of an ft 17 on, I'll approve it. It just have to be about dday, and historically correct.
We have almost all Sherman variants, all the funnies, cromwells, Bren and other carriers, Centaurs, PzKw IV and panther A. And probably a whole lot more. And moreover 1000 of pictures and books that tell us of what happend in those few days. It's no fun when there's no challenge. :-)
And your italeri kit, you can do a lot with it, as you know. I don't have to tell you of all the possibilities you have with this kit, transforming it in a M4 with wading gear.
Anyway, it's indeed about fun, and also a bit about a challenge, so have a great time doing both! :-)
Dave
