Fake M1A1 "Abrams" tank, which was made for the movie industry by Armytrucks Inc.

Vickers-Armstrong FV 4201 Chieftain as M1A1 "Abrams" by Armytrucks Inc, in the movie "Hulk"(2003).

Reading this thread and I can't help but think of the James bond film goldeneye, where Pierce Brosnan drives a tank in the streets of Russia with a horse statue on top, that would make a interesting dio...

Is it just me or does that JagdPanther upper look really good mated with that T-54/55 chassis?

@Bronzey, I agree, that would make a very interesting display.

In the original "Red Dawn" movie the ZSU-23-4 and the T-72 were created using the hulls from old M8A1 Cargo Tractors.

In the movie "The Fourth War" Canadian Grizzly AVGPs were painted white and had large hull numbers and red stars added to portray Soviet BTRs.

What about taking a really well detailed 1/35 model (P/E, resin AM, etc.) 3-D scanning it and using the data for computer generated images for movies? Much more authentic and realistic, and a lot cheaper than modifying 1:1 vehicles.

How about the Israeli M51s used in The Big Red One as German panzers in North Africa? That was a real stretch.

Not sure if its the same vehicle but the Stug III they use in Max Manus Man of War Norwegian war film and Band of Brothers is the same as the one they use in Mr Beans holiday.
Max Manus Man of War

Mr Beans holiday

Band of Brothers

I believe the Stug III is made up from a FV32 British armoured personnel carrier.

Looking at the first picture the man of war Stug looks a lot better than the other 2 Stugs.BOB and Mr Bean Stugs might be the same vehicle.

The picture you posted from Man of War looks like a real StuG to me judging by the drive sprocket, tracks and return roller that are visible in the pic. Even the engine deck looks perfect. That's assuming it wasn't digitally re-touched of course.

many, many years ago there was a movie about an oil-exploration plane that crashed in a sand-storm in Nth Africa c. 1950's .... storm uncovered a Pz-2 with it's crew still inside .... oil men buried them & drove the Pz-2 (Chafee) back to an active drill-well - unlike todays movies the plot was relatively realistic - good watching

All the Russian WW2 war-movies I've seen were dull & had several very crude fart scenes Are there any good movies about the Cold War that are land based (with tanks) ?? - ie from European or Russian production companies - Hollywood like Red Dawn etc don't count.

Mr. Beans' StuG looks reasonable, but is certainly not real. What little you can see of the tracks are the wrong type, and look more like the FV32, and the zimmerit looks like it runs in the wrong direction. I would agree with Karl that Mr. Beans' and BoB's StuG are actually the same vehicle.

Check "military vehicles" in the search page and you'll see great stuff. You can search by vehicle type, manufacturer or movie/TV show title.

Some of the mock-ups in this database are too crazy to be believed. This is a fun site, guys. For example:

On the plus side,I believe the movie"The Dirty Dozen" used a real German halftrack. Also the great movie"The Eagle has Landed" I believe used a real Sturmgeschutz, seen on a rail car passing by in the background.
