Looks very nice! Especially for a first serious build. There are more and more Nam figures and accessories popping up. I've been enjoying the M113 and variants for a year, now. It's a refreshing break from long barreled armor. Which Vallejo colors will you be using?

If you like the M113, I would recommend Academy's M163. I have built two of these and had a really fun time with them. You can build the Nam version, but it requires that you modify the gas filler cap to be level with the hull. The other option is for the M163A1, I believe, which was the version used after Nam.

If you have the money and want to be able to include an interior for the M163, I would recommend the Hobbyfan M163 Vulcan conversion(hf-036). It retails at $120, but the amount of detail is awe-inspiring.

Jasmin, you need to check the link on the photo. It doesn't seem to be working.

Hi Jasmin - looking good so far.
Just a couple of small comments. I do notice you have a small gap on the edge in front of the commander's hatch. You need to pick up some putty to fill in things like that before the paint is done. The other thing that jumps out at me is the mold line on the .50 cal. (running down the center of the top). That needs to be sanded down.

The machine gun should be made of iron, which has very little metallic luster. You can achieve a suitable effect by painting it black with gun metal highlights. If you want to achieve a more realistic effect for the periscopes, you can paint them a light blue or black and cut pieces of lexan to glue over the top. You can get the plastic from bubble packaging. Alternatively, I would recommend a gloss black or light blue with no lexan. The base coat, or is it the top coat, of green is very nice.

Impressive weathering Jasmin. What period are you modelling? I believe that the Vietnam version did not have a raised fuel cap. It's an easy fix. Trim off the old one with a chisel and put a very thin strip of aluminum foil across it, running with the length of the model. The strap continues to about 1mm off of the cap.

What is the wire on the front of the M113 for? I see you have the tow cable on the back, where it is recommended. I'm not sure that the front hatch would be blocked by stowage, just in case of an rpg.
