thanks for the kind words, I tried to finish this kit up today, but I ran into some serious issues with the stock Tamiya decal sheet, the completely crumbled and fell apart in the water, after looking at the decal sheet, I noticed that the decal sheet was very wrinkled.

I did manage though to hang the storage cans and antennas, as well as the ammo cans and get the base done, so not all is lost, I'm now in search of some aftermarket decals.

Hello gentlemen. At the beginning, I wanted to ask if this topic is still valid?
If so, I would like to join with my project. Since two years I'm trying to build a scene showing two Abrams, one of which crushes car. Both tanks are almost ready, it was a little detail to finish. Then, just crush the car model and build a section of the street and the work done.
Here I have some pictures:

I hope you will let me stay in this project? Regards

I'm finally ready to start on this campaign.... the Airfix 1/48 Landrover WMIK. This was a double kit set with the Snatch, which is nearly complete, and I'm cutting the first sprue for the WMIK:

totally agree! what brand of Abrams do you guys like to build? I ask cause I bought the Tamiya M1A1 and it seems to lack detail, it didn't come with the ruck sacks spare wheel etc.

Just wondering cause I'm about to pick up my first Trumpeter kit on Tuesday, as I don't know what to except from that brand.

Also does everyone that participate in this build get a ribbon? or isn't their one for this group build, also is there a dedicated gallery for finished models? or just post them to this group build thread?

sorry for all the questions.

Hi G!

If you want THE Abrams, I sugest you to buy the Dragon's one.

The recent Trumpy models are very good. You won't be desapointed.

Yes, every one get a ribbon. BTW, there is no ribbon so far.

And, yes. If you read all posts here, you will find the link to galery.

Cheers!

The Trumpeter Abrams has a lot of errors.

Hi!

Rob, I thougth he was talking about Trumpy kits in general, not the Abrams.

Cheers!

Hey guys, maybe I'm missing something here from the previous pages, but I can't find the link for the gallery for where finished models get posted.

Also does anyone know what the ribbon will look like? I did see a proposed one, just wondering that's all.

No worries Marco, Trumpy have upped their game in recent kits I just wanted to let him know there are problems with their Abrams kit as he was asking what Abrams kit to get, not being happy with the Tamiya one.

Here is a link to the gallery:

Alright guys, here are some pictures of my finished M1A1 abrams, I can't figure out how to post them to the dedicated gallery, so I thought I'd just post them up here.

Thanks for looking, and thank you for letting me participate!

Hi Grzegorz,
while it's up to the Campaign administrator, Jon Bell, I think the rules exclude kits build before the start of the campaign...I suppose the squashed car & diorama could be you entry and the M1's are just "filler"....I hope so: I'd live to see how you do it.

Over to you Jon!

G, that's a lovely Abrams!

Cheers
Sean

I work in the same time with the Stryker for the Rapid Rec Campaign and I decided to use the Legend stowage set for the Stryker on my Abrams too!!!

Am I still able to join? I have a Dragon M1A1 AIM I'm getting in a few days that I'd like to use for this.

I've just noticed the campaign leader, Jon, hasn't been on the forum since March: I hope he's alright!

In his absence and unless anyone objects, I'm willing to take over the lead on this campaign. If Jon rejoins us I'll gladly hand it back to him.

So, Michael, you're welcome aboard with your M1A1. Make sure you enlist here

Grzegorz: I've recheck Jon's original rules and I'm afraid the two near complete tanks would not qualify: sorry, but the campaign is about the vehicles, not dioramas.

I'll see what I can do about a ribbon in the next few days: please bear with me, I've not done one of these before. Any help or advice anyone can offer would be appreciated.

Gracias Jose, I might need those few pints by the end! ;-)

Welcome Michael and good luck with your build.

One of the iconic images of the war for me was the tearing down of the statue of Saddam and it being danced on by the crowds. So, being inspired by that, this is my first effort at a campaign badge:

What do ye think?

My other thought was an Abrams going under those crossed swords on the highway into Baghdad but my artistic skills were not up to that.

Now, having taken hold of the reins I better go work on my own entry in the campaign

My Abrams kit finally arrived today. 10 days after ordering...

Everything is new in plastic wrap. The only reason that parts are out of wrap is because I took them out to start work on them.

And yes, I made that little box with the duct tape. I made it to be my new tools/paint organizer/stray parts organizer
