G'day all. I will be building this kit for the campaign. Pretty excited as this is my first Tamiya kit and first time posting a model on the internet. I am quite new to this hobby so for the paint scheme I will go for a simple 2 tone camo, 348th Bttn-Belgium-Spring 1944.
Wish me luck!

Hey Peter,
I base coat the tracks with Tamiya flat brown. Washes and pigments will be applied over that.

Nice Kit Luke.

Gary,
I'm looking forward to seeing it on the base. I'm sure it will be spot on (no pun intended).
Later.

Hello fellas,
Thanks a bunch for the kind words guys!
Ive started the base and finished the oil fading.
Ive applied CelluClay with white glue added in the mix. I then poured dirt from the back yard onto the CelluClay. I let that sit for 45 min to an hour and then pressed the tracks into the dirt.

Im going to Airbrush a brownish filter over the oil fading just to warm it up a bit...not too much. Ill post pics after that later. Here it is as it sets now.

More to come!
Hello Luca,
I use Tamiya paints and primers for all my models. I use Vallejo to paint the details like tools, jack block, exhaust and the like. I base coated with XF-60 Dark Yellow with a tint of XF-57 Buff. The camo is XF-64 Red Brown and XF-67 Nato Green. For pin wash i used Mig Dark Wash and for general wash like in the fighting compartment i use my own mixes of oils and spirits.
Luca i appreciate tha good words and i hope that helps ya out. If ive left anything out of you'd like more info, dont hesitate to ask. Im more than happy to help any way i can.
Thanks fellas,
Gary

Gary: My friend, scary awesome!! Base is looking fine and will serve your Marder well. Great work on the wood bits too.
I've managed to get some primer and pre-shade on my little guy. I'm thinking I might have to do snow since the figure is in a snow suit...

Happy Modeling, -zon
