Hey, since it's figure focused shouldn't it be on HF?
Just sayin'...
Maybe it should be a cross-site campaign, like the recent Airfix one. That way you can pull in all kinds - maybe some boats... Special Boat Service - that surely proves there must be some. Helicopters. Trains?

Sorry, may I ask why the relatively short time frame?
2013-05-11
to
2013-09-12
Only four months.
I am thinking about it, but lots of people including me may also be on hols during August. Not sure I will realistically have time.

Hi Matthew,
If people need more time we can always ask for an extention.

I think that may be a good idea given that Special Forces is a huge-covering topic with lots of subject matter. IF one wants a sequel as "Special Forces 2 Campaign" right after, then OK, the short time frame may work. But if this campaign is it and none planned for another year or two, then a longer time frame may be needed. I know some may have been waiting for this topic for a while so giving them time to participate may be helpful.

Luca,
I just checked the stats on the las Special Forces Campaign.
It was a 6 month long campaign
36 enlisted
10 people finished, less than a third
So maybe 6 months will be better
Just saying, I'm not an expert

Luca, I would just message Epi, the campaigns administrator, and ask him to make the change. You'll find him under the thread "WORD FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR" - just click the message button. I think 6 months is definitely the way to go!

Hi all! Reporting to duty!
I'll try either "British Troops, Caen 1944" or "Operation Market Garden, 1944" both from MasterBox. Regarding figures, I'm very appealed by casual poses...
Regards
Javier

I'm guessing this campaign has started
I've noticed that it's another one of those that has no sticky nor has the person running it started anything with.
Once I get a chance I'm planning to build a Czech Toyoya Hilux from MMK Models.

I'd be very interested to see how the MMK kit is! I've seen one built finished online...looks really good, but the bare resin kit doesn't seem to have enough parts to make the built finished photo I saw. I don't know...maybe it's just my thinking.
I intend to build Deyun Hobbies 150mm "U.S. Army Special Forces" kneeling figure. It's either in ACU or Multicam pattern (actually, the figure was painted in ACU). So it'll be a challenge to paint either camp pattern in 150mm scale.

Peter the MMK kit is not too bad, but not really worth the money I forked out for it. The doors are molded shut, the wheels need to be replaced, and the guns leave alot to be desired. So I'm replacing the wheels with those from DEF ment for the Meng pickup and the guns will be replaced with ones from Miniarm.

Hi Luca,
has this one taken off or has it somehow faded away?
I´d like to do last years Tamiya LRDG with the Breda 20mm,
but I don´t want to start and find out the campaign´s been
buried

My entry is the HobbyBoss Meng Shi Special Forces version

The Humvee origins of this are very obvious:

Chassis and wheels nearly done

For anyone doing one of these the instructions have the wrong read-bumber listed. It should be part E3 and not D12 if you want to add the spare wheel
The dash is quite different to a Humvee though

More later

Progress so far. I'm building it out of sequence as it suits me better that way. I'm using the Black Dog SAS Jeep update set as I bought the LRDG Chevvy/SAS Jeep set and for the price it's great value. I've got some of the Legend civilian tyres for the jeep as well but I've not decided whether to use them or not yet or what weapon load out I'm going to do. Decisions decisions...lol

Anyway, after a very fast start it all slowed down, and the daughter took the camera again :-(
One quick photo to show I'm not completely asleep...

Now,most of you will notice that's 3-tone: light & mid green and desert brown. But to me I can't tell the different greens so if there are any glaring mistakes please shout. Now I remember why I like sand coloured vehicles so much....or just plain OD.
No complaints about the kit....it's going together very well. As usual I didn't follow the build plan and kept the chassis & body separate until after painting. I find it easier this way.
Will get more detailed photos in next few days and hopefully a bit more progress
