Forgot the time start even though it was on the calender, dummy that I can be at times. Will have to get out the pic for my D.M.L. Green Berets and N.V.A. Have to find some S.F. base camps to get my sand bags right. I'll catch up to the rest of you guys soon.

Karl, jeep is looking good
I have made some progress on my snipers and I think I am ready to call them finished

Thanks Sal. Like your end result. One thing you could do to improve it though is use the scatter material you've used on the bank where they're kneeling as it'll add a bit more depth and continuity as the ground seems to change quite abruptly. Just a suggestion

I agree with Karl, maybe some more foliage or a small bush.
Also Sal, I remember the movie "Enemy at the Gates" about WW2 snipers, since it's a rural / forest setting, maybe adding some foliage on the helmet and covering the shiny equipment and metal parts of the K98 w/ dark tarp to avoid light reflections.

John, Yes that was a great movie but I was using this photo as my inspiration

so I will add some more foliage like Karl suggested

Oh Sal, I'm sorry I didn't know you were using a photo as inspiration. Nevermind, maybe for a future "Enemy at the Gates" or "Movie" Campaign...

I like the uniforms camo and the pose looks realistic using the terrain as cover !

I'm calling this done now. I can't fully weather it yet as it's part of a dio I'm working on and I've yet to start on the groundwork and figures. Bloody typical of DML to decide to release a SAS crew now I've built 3 jeeps!

Nice SAS Jeep, Karl! Awesome! I really like how SOFs load all the guns and gear on vehicles...lots of things to see.

Hi I've decided to join late and I am intending on building some figures of the US 101st airborne division. I have been building a staghound and base for the commonwealth thunder campaign and will incorporate the figures into this.

As airborne soldiers were considered 'elite' in world war 2 is this acceptable for this campaign?

Well he is my progress so fay:

I wanted to attempt making resin casts (saw a great post in the diorama forum) as I wanted to make a variety of US airborne figures in different poses. I had Dragon's airborne in Normandy set and then made casts of the torso, arms and legs and gen 2 hands before altering them and adding hornet heads





I drybrushed them with Vallejo stencil, painted the skin with set from lifecolour and then painted the uniforms.

The base of the uniforms were midstone, with a dark brown glaze and highlights using various amounts of the base with iraqui sand.





One of the other two airborne soldiers I started prior to this campaign.



I will wait until the other two are complete before doing the finishing touches to this figure

I like the ribbon but I don't know how good it will look when shrunk down to ribbon size

Well, just Just realizing, after a couple of months, that I haven't post my initial pics , so here we go!.





Also, there you have some progress. The heads are from Hornet, as the original ones need quite a work, and, for my taste, are a littler rough.















I adde also a Thompson from Italeri, as a more suitable weapon for the man in Denison.
I'll try to make a vignette like the illustration on box.But the figures first.

A month's extension would really help for me. Since the original deadline is so near, I dropped my plans on building a 200mm figure and instead opted for a 1/35 one.

Here are my entries. I intend to finish one of them by the deadline. Both are 1/35.
