"The Bus"
I'm getting started on the wiring harness with what I guess would be called the "bus"(?) to which the wires attach.

Thank you, Steven!

Attempt #1 to make the wiring harness... I don't even wanna talk about it.
Attempt #2... uuuugh, this isn't working!
Attempt #3... yes! This is looking about right... oh crap! I broke it.
Attempt #4... so far... and I haven't broken it or messed it up yet. The black mark on the toothpick is the top of the sidewall. The end of the toothpick is the bottom of the sidewall, and the red mark is the top height at which the wiring bus will be mounted.
Is it just me, or does model building go slower during spring and summer?

Attempt #5... 6... er maybe this is 7... to make the wiring harness. This one finally looks much better. Figuring how to make stuff from scratch is harder than it looks! I envy the guys that can do this stuff well! The black lines are just to get dark color down into the indentations for the screw holes. The screws inside them, on the real thing, apparently hold the wires in place.

Wow! Took a bit of a break, didn't we?
I think you're on to something with the wiring. That's going to look great!

Yeah, I really did, didn't I! (red face)
A lot of things crept up on me, one of which involved having to build a new barn.

Mike, its been ages
You built a barn? thats would have been an impressive build log too.
Well your Panzer 2's level of detail is exceeding mine, those steering arm levers are really impressive and that wiring !
Dont leave it another 9 months to post

Egad! You're a braver man than I Gunga Din! Well done, I don't have the patience to do all that wiring work.

Here's a close-up. You can see the dimple-holes I poked to try and simulate the screw holes for holding the wires in place. It's hard to keep the dust off, especially after sanding or filing. The plastic dust is so clingy... If anybody has a suggestion for dust removal that won't clobber tiny parts, I'm all ears!
Slowly teasing the wires into place for the wiring harness. The trick is avoiding crimping the copper, 'cause once you crimp it it's hard to un-crimp without messing it up!
Now I just need to finish teasing the rat-tail along the floor into a smoother bundle as it goes into the battery storage area down there.

The wiring is driving me nuts, so I am working on some other parts for a while...
Here is the airfilter with the holes I drilled. Also trying to get the PE to match up so it will mount on the inner wall correctly (with the notches lined up).

The hull vision ports are going in now. I really like the detail on the clear parts. Too bad most all of it will be painted; just the little hanging glass panels (in the match-box) will actually be see-through.
There's a lot of gap space to either side of the frames for the vision ports. The top and bottom match pretty well, but it's gonna take some filler for the sides.

I've decided to pose the back vision port closed, but the side ports will be in the open positions.

If there's something to be hinged on a kit, I seem unable to resist the temptation to hinge it. I drilled out the mount points for the rear mud flaps.
I'll drill out the flap hinges themselves and clip the piano wire to the right length next.
