We had a cold spell last night. We almost turned off the air conditioner, but then didn't since my phone still showed the temp at 1 degree F.

Jeff T: apparently it was a national glitch in the system as people from all over were reporting weird temps, mostly 1 degree or hugely negative. Interestingly, the 5 day forcast was still accurate.

So there you have it.All and all not a bad build,and nothing to be scared of(hull issues).It was not near as involved as the Puma.

Let me introduce you my entry - 1/48 Eduard Focke Wulf 190 A-5 with PE (also from Eduard) as well as 1/48 Tamiya Aircraft Power Supply unit & Kettenkraftrad. I am planning to make a little dio.

I am not a fan of Germany especially in that particular historical period, but there was sale for both RLM colors by vallejo air as well as Eduard, so I thought I should add some luftwaffe to my my collection also it is interesting from modelling as well as historical and technical point of view.

I chose the markings from 1/JG1, Deelen, the Netherlands, July, 1943, because this particular model was one of the first to be equipped with rocket launchers (initially FW 190 had anti-fighter role, but later was used in close air support, ground attack, fighter-bomber roles as well.), and this model should ilustrate that.

I consulted with GregCloseCombat, because I started this kit during my holidays in december 2012 (that is after the start of the campaign), but have no photo of unstarted eduard kit, because at that time wasn't a member of this forum. Nevertheless, he said, that if I add another model to make a dio, then everything will be fine. So then I chose Tamiya kit.

For the dio base I haven't decided yet, maybe make one from picture frame. And maybe even add some more figures, because I was planning to make the engine open, but haven't found a decent german mechanic yet.

As always in these 1/48 scale campaigns some really great work! Too much to comment them all unfortunately...

So I'm in for a late start here. Very unusual for me I'll be building a kraut. I'll build the Blue Cat models Demag as a favour for my friend who happens to be the owner of that company. He's also sending me a PE set for it (from a French company I think?) and I'll be reviewing and building that too. So far it seems the plastic is rather thick but very sturdy and fit is excellent.




This is eventually supposed to go on a little Dio together with the Jeep from the last campaign.

Stefan - nice kit. I look forward to how you do your dio base. The french company is likely Gasoline at quarter-kit.com as I know they make pe for that kit.

Im going to get back into this campaign soon.

Actually it's Hauler... Don't know where they're from. Received the set yesterday and will see when I can start.

Have all of the corners sharpened and the Archer Rivets installed. Will now finish the rest of the details and final prime. Looked like this:

Patrick - I like the detail you're adding to the BA-10 and am looking forward to seeing the finished product - I haven't seen this modelled before.

Ignas - Looks like you've got some state of the art plastic and photo etch and from your progress shots you are certainly doing it justice. I'll be watching to see how the Eduard FW builds up as it is on my wishlist.

I've been making steady progress on the Swordfish and hope to have the cockpit coming together in the next week or two so I can post some progress pics.

@Jeff, @Greg, @Anthony - thanks guys, glad you like it although the cockpit part it's not so difficult because that PE is already in color in the kit, so you don't paint everything yourself

The next steps were more stressful, since I rushed and made some mistakes with PE for engine but the process was fun

@Simon - not so much state of the art, because fuselage doesn't fit perfectly at least for me, maybe It's my fault, but will require filling, sanding, lifting to make it more or less symmetrical and making that engine takes a lot of time and effort, and the final results is not as good, as I saw made by others with aftermarket resin engines for this particular model. So if someone would be thinking about building this one with open engine, i'd suggest saving time and effort and buying resin substitute. But altogether it's fun
