Anyone ever thought of posting in box reviews, questions/answers, content as a method of gaining rank? Just curious.

Hey Jim,
Another nice idea from the best modeling site on the net.
Someone in an earlier post mentioned Canadian rank, and I wouldn't mind having it myself. So here is the rank insignia link from DND.

Same in the US forces. Major General was abbreviated from Sergeant Major General, hence a Lieutenant General outranks a Major General.

Jim,
Locking in a prefered rank, once it was attained would be a nice feature for those who are former military. Great work ...

As each rank structure is a bit different it seemed odd to have the "Generaal" rank at 2000 posts and then nothing above it. Also as the site has grown it seems apparent that the ranks were set a bit low to start. So if you look all the new ranks require a bit more work to change rank. 100 posts for 1st Lt. if you are on officer ranks, etc. While enlisted ranks go a bit quicker at first but then longer later on.
Of course non of this is locked in stone (YET!).
Danny - If you can find me info on a Dutch rank that is higher than Generaal than I can add it also of course.

Jim,
In our ranks we have nothing higher over an "Generaal". Normally this would be Marshall, but therefore we would need to have the strenght of an Army....we only can provide the strength of an Army Corps.... So no higher rank over Generaal....
I would settle for the title of "Site Commander" though, when I ever reach that point of 5000 posts
.... then again... does your army have a Site Commander.... hehe...I bet it does
nothing surprises me ...hehe
We always could have create the Dutch rank of "Site Commandant"... that would be a

I always wondered since I have about 2800 posts at my current rank while it took 2000 posts to get to this rank.

Yes I did mention Canadian ranking....I was the 1st to post.....the 2nd to ask for Canadian ranking gave a site with modern ranking system....I would like WWII....there was a link given for British ranking....they are the same as Canadian....the only thing it doesn't include wgich would be nice is....behind the officers pips there was a backing colour for branch of service...an example....and the one I would prefer to have is....Armoured Corps had a backing of yellow under each pip.
Any attempt at it would be much appreciated Jim.

Here's a link to the ranks insignia of WWII german SS.
To get these on board (if we want that to happen. Maybe this needs some reflection and concensus) we need to figure out what rank matches with the current ranking system, and tailor the collar patches to a correct size for this site.
A nice job for editors who'd like to wear WWII insignia...

I have already sent Jim a listing of the whermact rank structure and english equivilants.i think the SS rank would be cool, however I dont think it would be a wise idea due to the fact that we are an international community

I'd sure like to have my (permanent) SSG stripes back... they were there earlier today... I have no desire whatsoever to be an LTC.... too much brass for this old grunt.
