Is this a winter thing? Kinda bright on the ole' eye balls!

Hope it's just temporary - or maybe I can change it myself and just missed it somewhere in settings?

White here too Jim. I agree it is a little eye jarring. It also removes depth from the site.

I DO like the more modern tool bar or tabs to select what section to go to but the white is a bit much.

Not sure I like this, am finding the vertical advertisement panels are encroaching a couple of mills into the main window which is a bit irritating, "if it's not broke...'?

They do seem to be behaving differently from before - try zooming in or out a little? I am getting the overlap when viewing by phone.
Must admit the first thing I always do with a new PC is change the background to black.
I've always wondered if white uses more power - or am I misunderstanding how displays work?

I have noticed there are some issue with older browsers, for examle, the page does not load correctly using IE7, but I am having no issues with Chrome.

I definitely prefer the old page design. When I logged on I said to myself "W-T-F. Where am I???" Sorry, I just don't like it.

Lol... background color? Okay, okay I will try to add an option to change background color. You realize of course that every other site in the network has been using a white background for 6 years and nobody on those sites seems to mind.

You guys are likely missing the point of all this 'change' though. Before ALL of our sites had different files with ALL different page coding for things like the wrapper and homepage. Now they are all centralized so if I change one they all conform. Luckily that means doing a background shift should be fairly easy with simply adding an override CSS stylesheet. Yes..that is web babble.
I fixed a few issues this morning. Essentially (more web babble) the site is now using a STRICT format so there should be fewer IE Quirk mode issues. This also means that some older pages may have some odd style issues until I can get to updating them. But the overlap issues should be gone now once your browser updates your CSS/HTML files.
Thanks,
Jim

Just an FYI as well. All those 'NEW' tags on the homepage are suppose to only show what is new since your last visit. However at some point this stopped working. Will be getting that fixed today as well.
Thanks,
Jim

...and that's the reason I only build armour, so I don't have to go to the white rooms.

Seriously though, I do get the point of what you're saying about standardising so you can control the whole site collection. (The "Quirk" term twice in one afternoon - uncanny.)
BTW, there's a link on the front page for help with submitting video, but that info doesn't seem to be on the linked to page. You knew that, of course.

Of course.

Actually I think I did note that page needs updating. Submitting videos is going to be a bit of a pain in the butt however since most would be like 400mb! And we think people had issues with large photos...
There must be an upload/download service out there though we can employ.

Okay for those wanting a dark background, you can chose that option under Settings > Modify Profile. There is a 'paper' option as well. More of a beige really.
You will need to be LOGGED IN for this option to work however. And it will work across all sites as well.

Thanks Jim! I didn't realize how bad my eyeballs were crossing with the white until I changed it back to the dark option.

Jim,Here's where I stand. The ad panel overlap problem has been fixed,Thanks. My only issue now is that the site page is still too wide.I tried bumping up my screen res.(I was at 1024x768)but to get the whole page to fit it made the text size so small it was hard to read.
I do like the new format though, thanks for all you do,Jeff Tucker

Jim, I tried all three options, and decided that for my tired old eyes, the dark/black is most pleasing to me.

Hi Philippe,
Sounds like the old "More Info"/"Less Info" button up to its tricks again! Toggle it and the header should re-appear.
