The storage racks looks awesome. They will look even better when all filled up. Keep up the great work and keep the pics coming.

Thanks! Should get some more work done this week.

This is the exact bucket that I'm building, got the pic from Bob.

Today's small update

After a near fatal argument with gravity, it was decided for me to rebuild the headlight mounts and guards

What I did was thin out the kit guards and make brackets that somewhat resemble the actual ones.

I also built the Fruil tracks using brass nails instead of the new brass wire that comes with them. I had to drill out every link the right size as well.

I might have to relocate the idler wheel as I can't get a good sag, it's either too tight or too loose

I think she's ready for paint unless someones keen eye can inform me otherwise.

cheers

Very nice work Rick. A couple of things you might consider adding.

1. Add mesh on the engine grills if the U.S. M113A2 has that feature.

2. Add some details to the machine gun mount pintle. The kit mount is very basic and the real mount has a locking mechanism that is a relatively easy detail to add.

Congrats on your Merkava article too!

Thanks Jason!

Yes I'm waiting for the mesh to come in the mail for the grills and stowage racks.

I'll look into the mount and see what I can add.

Merkava article?

Only one thing to be said for that; keep looking. The Devil is in the details.

Well got back to this build today, printed off some decals for the stencils. These are still raw and require mucho weathering to tie them in.

the main difference would be if have the interior open as the 113a2 had laterals (stick) controls where as the a3 has a hydraulic steering yoke and the a2 did not normally have the external fuel cells
if you are looking at adding the recovery spades i have an official M113 operators manual and can scan the pages that show them if you like (is for the a1 version but most of the systems are the same)
i spent 12 1/2 years in carriers here in new zealand

Well troops I got some time in at the workbench lately and I finally got the decals printed for R68. Still a lot of detail painting left to do and repairs since I had to re-do the decals.

Anglico track getting closer to the finish. Need advice on the sat and radio antennas. Still have to add the grenade launcher, tow bar on the front plate, periscopes, sleeping bag valise's and of course the crew figs. It's going to have a Mk 19 grenade launcher and two in the family hatch.

Reference pics of the actual vehicle,

The one I'm building is the one on the left.

The final pics of the ANGLICO track before it's trip down to Robert Burik's place in New Jersey. This officially ends my two builds of the ANGLICO M-113 and C-23 CARNIVORE!
