Hello,
built my one at the weekend During this building I always tested Tamiya`s parts on Dragon`s Abrams because the TUSK I armour. While the side armour`s fit was good, the belly armour was too big. Can it be that Dragon and Tamiya have a different size??? :O
Cheers

Moritz,
I know 100% for a fact that the Dragon AIM kit is as accurate as possible compared to the real thing. I was the one who climbed all over the real thing with a measuring tape helping with the R&D of the kit with Pawel and Dragon.

Yes. Much more so than the Tamiya Abrams.

Hi all I strongly agree with heavy of the Accuracy of the M1A2 SEP From DML ,I have managed to get all of the Major Tamiya Tusk parts on my Dragon SEP With no real problems other than grafting some parts off the Dragon side skirts and then onto the Tamiya parts The belly armor went on with no problems except around the 5-6 road wheels it ends in an L shape so guys if you have been contemplating a kit bash then it can well and truly be done and the end result is very good for me this is more viable due to sinus problems as I cant work with resin like I used to.
Cheers Ben.

Hello,
thank u for ur help and this important information!!! I do not why, but my belly armour was to big at the front section. She did not fit because she covered Dragon“S towing lug/sling on the bottom side of the lower hull.
Cheers

Hi Gang, just to toss my hat into the ring on this - i have got both the Dragon and Tamiya kits and i have to say that despite its inaccuracies the Tamiya kit wins hands down.
I`m currently building Dragon`s kit and it`s a dog !,it`s over-engineered and the plans are virtually no help at all. They do`nt guide you with reference to specific vehicles and to add insult to injury i had to rip up the rear deck to fit the battery cover as this was`nt mentioned til the next step.
Cosidering the cost of this kit that`s pretty poor in my opinion - just like my school reports used to say "Could do better"

Another question in my long line of TUSK questions: It may be too soon to tell but do the Tamiya TUSK parts fit okay on the Dragon M1A1 or A2 kits? As part of my backdating and parts swapping between kits and brands I may need to do this to get the versions I want

Looks like the latest A2's in Korea have the CROWS system on the turret

I fancy the Tamiya Tusk but its not far off £70 with p&p ($105) from a well known UK retailer. That's expensive is it not.

Rob
I have just seen that both Hobbyeasy & Luckymodels have the Tusk for sale about £42 delivered to the UK. More resonable. Thanks for the heads up Rob.
Now how do i get another kit (to go with all the others) without anyone at home noticing the post man delivering it.

Are you serious? I'm working on Dragon's SEP right now and it is an engineering marvel.

That's a great shot. Notice how the NATO Tri-Color is different on each of them?
