Hi Jaymes
I am not sure if I understand the question correctly , but there is no problem at all regarding the structure.
There is no pudding -like shaking if you meant that.
This is all not so high. max.30 cm for the houses, so well glued this is pretty strong.
I do not have a home yet for the dio. No progress has been made and a tentative interest of the BOB museum in Clervaux remains that for now as they are very slow on moving things and making nails with heads.
Thanks for checking once again, it has been a long ride!
Greets

So here it is my friends. The picture I waited 8 years for!
I think I wrote about the unfortunate and bad looking corner in the dio. It happened because I extended the dio about 20 cm at the latest possible moment. I will do another 140x20 cm module during the next months, after some 1/1 scale house work had been done.
It will feature only the extension of the hill besides the river, a bit of meadow and another extension of the street. Nothing worth delaying the book for another year.
The book is done on my side. I handed it over to get professional layout and I will get it back for the beginning of october. It will have 152 pages so be prepared to pay a little more then last time.
Everyone who bought the book on my site will get a mail when it's out and of course it will also be announced wherever possible.
I will work on a french and german text version now, I am not yet sure in what format I will make those available. A spanish version might come also!
Thanks again for your continuing support

Claude,
It is fantastic to see it finished at last. Looks fantastic, what do you plan to do with it now you've finished?

Hmm... bit of a letdown after 8 years.
;-)
Just kidding. It looks great, Claude!! Can't wait for the new book and a chance to see it in real life somewhere.

Well ,in fact, the overall picture does not do it justice. It is very hard to get a good picture of a 3 m long dio. Detail views are much better!
Live viewing is even better, that's my experience from the expos.
I am i Genk on Oct.12/13, that's not to far from NL!
Tom, nice to hear from you again! I remember the time when you wanted to come to Lux to see it. It's still entirely assembled in my garage! That's your chance :-)
Paul, thank you very much!
It will stay in a dust free room until someone will make place for it in a museum. That may be a few years from now or 20 years. I made contacts, but nothing and no one is moving...sadly. Hope to make some expo's with it, but my transport costs deter most organizer's from inviting me. I will make some expo's next year with one or the other river parts. I will try to get my book out to the modellers.
Otherwise, I will put it on EBAY for $1! Just kidding.. add 6 zero's behind
Would love to be at Scalemodelworld in Telford, but it's IPMS only and they won't want (and pay for me) there.
Thank you very much Dimitris, I really love to hear that, specially knowing where I started not to long ago.
Great to here from you

Congratulations Claude on completing this outstanding piece. Not only is the result very beautiful, but you have managed to maintain a consistently high quality finish over the whole 8 years.
I wish you success in finding someone willing to display this for the public to enjoy.

Hi Claude,
You’re absolutely right; this picture doesn’t do it justice at all! I’ve seen your diorama some time ago (it wasn’t by far as big as it is now) and in reality it’s way more impressive than any picture could ever show.
Must be a great feeling (almost) finishing this masterpiece!
Congratulations! Really inspiring in many ways.
Best regards
Mark

What a journey ... but a fantastic result. How will you ever just start something simple again like a tank or corner vignette? Looking forward to the second book. Nice one Claude.

Well........I think that I would have to invent new words inabiling me to show my appreciation of this achievment. Since I can't do so I will just have to say brilliant!!
This is seriously top line work and I agree with the previous statement about maintaining high quality till the end. Superb! Wunderbar, encroyable!

8 years already? Damn that time flies man.
Thanks for your work and your constant updates. Even though I have not Always been active in posting in your threads you can rest assured that I have followed every letter and every photo posted and for the last 8 years have enjoyed every bit of it. Delighted to actually meet you and see your diorama in the flesh. (well it was only the castle at that time) Already looking forward to the second book. The first one I still regulary pick from the bookshelves to read and look through it. And I have no doubt it will be the same with volume 2
Cheers Mate have a cold one.

Guys, I am really glad to hear from you all.
Indeed , most of you had to endure this from the beginning and I thank you again for having commented regularly.
At least, and I hope so, you all know by now where Luxembourg and where Clervaux is situated.
I just made an email who, if answered positively, will assure a good distribution of the book In the States.
Thanks guys
Claude

Still stunning after 8 years. Have you thought any more about a video tour of the model?

Thanks Paul! I have, no later then yesterday, but it is a difficult undertaking If I want to do it somewhat right.
With the video function on my camera I have permanent zoom in and out's.
A bit less perhaps with my son's smart phone , but I need to check that again.
I work on it!

I don't think any comment I could make would do this justice - it is outstanding in every way - quality and quantity. Is it really 8 years? Doesn't time fly! Perhaps it is the steady and consistent speed with which you have worked at it!
As to display - perhaps you are thinking along the wrong lines; perhaps the mountain should come to Mohammed - open your garage to the public, like a British stately home! Personally speaking I would love to see it in the flesh, and the battleground of the Ardennes is on my bucket list...
