I get what your saying Jeff. All the 35 and 38 based vehicles are a bit weird and I'm certainly not an expert on them.

John, I just noticed in your spure shots it doesn't have pre-cut indy-links!? Are you going aftermarket for the tracks or are you going to spend the hours needed to carefully cut and clean up each link? You could probably build a whole other kit in that time!

Christopher, those indy links are for some spare tracks , I'm guessing since there are also some Italeri style rubber tracks too, as you can see on the pics there's only one sprue with indy-links.

Tom, no problem at all , you're welcome here !!!!
Feel free to join in, comment & ask anything.
I'm hoping that this Build-log will help others that are thinking of building/buying these same kits.

Another detailed part ( 3 are done, another 3 to go ... )
I lost 2 small parts, so I ended up scratching 2 in wire.

I just assumed you left the others out John. What a nightmare that would be otherwise!

I just work one at the time, the parts are too small and easy to loose.
I might try one with metal wire only, but these parts will be hidden and hardly visible.. anyway finishing the wheels & suspension would be great..

Ola John
That Lorraine is taking shape mate. Looking really good so far. As to answer your question on what color I'm planning to paint mine in... I'm not sure yet. Probably one of the sand and green camo's from the Normandy campaign.

Hallo Robert !

I'm currently working on the wheels & suspension parts.
I will add the details for the upper hull soon.
Thanks !

I was looking again at your RPM Marder I, the chassis is the same as mine, you added some scratch fenders, did you had any trouble fitting the upper hull with the lower part ?
On mine I'm guessing I'll have to do some surgery..

Update:

Wheels & suspension

After this photo, I worked on another set.. still 3 more to go.

I'll have to touch up Rubber Black on some spots.
After that some filters on the wheels & weather the iron parts with some rust/brown.

These RPM kits aren't easy as Trumpeter's or Tamyia's kits, far from that, but it's a nice challenge too !
But better than a SKIF or Eastern Express kits for sure

Well still a lot of work here... Back to the bench !

It's been awhile, but here my update:

I've been working on the gun too.
Bad plastic, awful fitting... mhhh I might switch the 150mm gun for Alan's Grille 150mm ...

I'll try my best with this one first.

As you can see I decided to stick with the RPM gun.
Still have some more details to work on the hull before adding the gun & boxed armour cage.

Found some references too..
This kit isn't easy.

I might add some wiring & K98 rifles. not sure yet.

The references:

I already picked the next ones on the S.P.A.M list, Tamyia Wespe & Dragon's Dicker Max.

Stay tuned !!!

Damn I'm so jealous of all those lovely SPG kits, think it's time I bought one or two.

Also I saw you stumbled upon the German War Files Documentary! I've watched all the armour episodes at least twice, always inspire me to get the glue back out and get to work.

Can't wait for more updates.

Thanks Tristan !

I saw those episodes, you are right , they send us right back to the bench...

I'm hoping to finish the other side, add the final details on the lower hull and start the green camo.

I want to start either a Tamyia or a Trumpeter .. this RPM kit is a pain...

Another update during the weekend ! Stay tuned !!!
