Interesting treatment of an unusual subject. I liked the truck, but I was really impressed with the ground work. Given that a sapling had time to ground up through the truck bed, I would have expected a little more rust and other weather damage, but that's just me. Excellent piece, and thanks of sharing.

Excellent job and much better then what I could ever produce however I have to agree with Jim I would think that 25 years of radioactive contamination would have rusted the truck out a bit more and flattened out the trucks tires
But its still a great piece

Beautiful work, Charles. The weathering on the bed, the wheel rims, the gas tank, and the doors, is especially awesome. There is a captivating atmosphere too. Bloodsuckers??? How would mosquitoes be modeled?

Looks awesome. The vehicle has a nice old, worn feel to it. And the dio is just right.

Rick, I think Matt means the "Bloodsucker" mutants from the STALKER video game series.
Though I was constantly attacked by the flying variety when I went there in the summer. Bites all over, but no radioactive contamination

Great idea, great diorama! Really nice! How do you done grass? It is static grass or foliage?
Posted: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 - 10:49 AM UTC
Hi Peter
The grass is indeed 'static grass' clumps.
Cheers,
C.

What did you use for the bolts on the back deck ?
Posted: Thursday, September 07, 2017 - 03:05 AM UTC
Wow Lou! long time! Speak about resurrecting a thread from the past! I had to think on this one but I have a rivet making machine from the Small Shop that allows you to punch out rivet and bolt heads. I believe I used the smallest die for the bolt heads on the bed of the truck.

C.
