Hey John,
From Wikipedia: They later made up a significant component of the armoured fighting vehicles of the reformed 21st Panzer Division in Normandy.
So I guess it's ok.
Good luck!
Dave

Nick, try to find these on Flicker's FAQ,
HTML code or BBCode!
If the have the IMG tag included just copy & paste it to you message.
Another option is to find the Image link and use the IMG tags provided (between text box and smiley icons and paste the image link -
- "[.img.]http://put.url.here/image.file[./img.] ")

Nick, yours is of course perfect! Great choice.
Loc, can you put forward some evidence that there were jags panthers in Normandy around dday?
Thanks, happy modeling and all the best for 2014!

Hey Loc,
I did some research, and it seems that jagdpanthers arrived in Normandy by the end of July around Caen... So, I'm afraid I can't allow a jagdpanther for this campaign.
Otherwise there are plenty of subjects that do qualify, including German units if you prefer these.

Hello Gary,
This definitely fits the campaign, it will be hard to do better.
Can you just add some progress pictures?
Thanks!

Hi Dave,
I have a question
I was going to build a PzIV ausf H for this campaign but the kit I have is the Dragon kit with the T-34 tracks as added armor
but this tank was in Poland in 1944
So I have found this site
http://www.network54.com/Forum/571595/thread/1200556632/last-1200641734/Hummel+316+in+Rouen+Revisited-++A+Review+of+Hummel+Organization+and+Markings+in+Normandy
That saays there were Hummels In Normandy
So my question is can I build this Old Dragon kit that I had in the stash that has some Eduardo AM PE with it

As you can see in the hull the previous owner has cut some pieces off the spruces so I hope all the parts are accounted for

Hi Sal,
I'm building Dragon's Hummel too (SPAM buildlog) but I guess it's another version (#6150).
Anyway here's my progress for this one, wheels & suspension

Small update I have added some plastic rod to the hull to make the raised weld seam as most Sherman tank kits have a recess to represent this.

@ John I have been watching your Hummel come together
@ Kieth looks like a nice clean build so far
I have made some slow progress on my Hummel
The lower hull

upper hull with some AMPE

This kit is so old that the spruces are 2 different colors and in trying to gather up enough magic tracks to avoid using the kit ones on spruces

The shape of the front/top hull is a bit different than mine.
Hummel's front

Did you glued the fenders already ?
I won't add the fenders until I've finished with the tracks, not much space to set them.

Anyway I'll follow your Hummel for sure !

John I think that what they call an early Hummel with the muffler to on the rear

The fenders on mine are all 1 part of the upper hull so that wont be glued in place until I have the tracks on

Sal and John, maybe a little light in tghe differences on the hulls of your kits:
Johns kit version is the so called early or mid variant.
Sals kit (and the one I built ca. 20 years ago) is the late version with revised drivers / operators section.
I have to get some things sorted out but, will soon join in with another of my favorites. A StuG III G with an interesting stolen camo set up

Guys I'm calling this one done. Lots of work related travel coming up so I had to get it finished. All the hatches are still dry fit so I may add some crew members later.

Guy your Pz IV looks great but are you taking photos with a filter over your lens
they're not that clear.
Ok I have been making some progress on my Hummel I finally glued the hull on to the lower after I got the tracks on and had a gap that had to be filled in the front

I then added some futures and some markings

I had read that the Germans would some time add an additional number to their vehicles in an attempt to confuse the Allies,so I did
This beast needs a lot more TLC hopefully tomorrow
