We'll, I've got one on pre-order and there's already a few mistakes from just the sprue shots..

Welp, by the time I am done my T-54, there just might be a Mini-arm correction for this kit.

I almost agree on that, but honestly cannot figure a T-90 kit being less time consuming.
Just count the number of holes you have to do in Meng's kit to apply the ERA armor....
Where should the manufacturers make savings in order to the kit being more "building-friendly" is a matter of subjectivity.

Don't agree about the "more PE part count" thingy. I believe it IS a matter of molding capabilities.

What I always see is a complaining either because a given kit is too much simplified an too much "shake and bake", or cause it is too much time consuming.
We already know that there ain't a kit that will satisfy everybody.

Me myself be very happy to have these choices for a plastic T-90, and even three different manufacturers too for a Object 279.
Still waiting for a new T-72, but I believe its just a matter of patience now.

finger crossed for a decent T-72, hopefully from Meng

I never said it would be HARD. time consuming and unnecessary not hard. they could have been cast right into the turret like all the other T-90 kits out there.

IMO just a gimmick to say there are more P.E parts in the kit.

I am not looking forward to glueing all those P.E circles on to the turret

Really? Shouldn't be that hard. No different than gluing a plastic piece, other than you use a different kind of glue. Not hard at all.

Hi Everybody;

Well I Was Real Happy About This Kit !------------UNTIL----- I Saw The Tracks With Separate Guide Horns.

This Hobby is suppose too be Fun !! OHHH The Pain the Pain !

They are really not that hard, I had a set of tracks for the BTR50 that had those. Thought it would be a real PITA, but wasn't too bad. Just the clean up of the parts will test your patients as there are so many, but they assemble pretty nicely, as long as you use the glue sparingly.

Hi Everybody;

I have seem many pics of T-90s with RMSH tracks and with a mix of 6 and 8 spoke road wheels.
And the exhaust should be a easy fix, im looking forward too this kit even with the tracks.

Also, there may a problem with the markings :

All photos I know of T-90 tanks with such markings have the old tracks (T-72 type) and the earlier exhaust /engine, contrary to what Trumpeter provide in the box :

The armoured plate for the gunner's hatch does not appear to be correct for the T-90 with cast turret :

Shouldnt be too challenging and the level of detail will be far superior to anything injection moulded.

I'm pleased, this looks like a superb release, well done Trumpeter!

Well, we already know that every single kit will not satisfy all the modellers out there..
Either because of oversimplified designs or cause of overengineered ones.
Either cause of rubber tracks, or cause of single link, or even track and link...
And we can keep going on and on listing this kind of stuff.
I'll build one as is, for sure, maybe before finish building

So far Meng's is far and away the best out there. Seriously, it is much better than anything Trumpeter has made (and I like Trumpeter!). Unless you really want the cast turret, I'd bet that Meng's will remain the top of the heap.

sadly, there's no pattern for Meng's releasing, TS-006 is T-90A and TS-008 was FT-17, but no sigh of TS-007....

Well, that's one of the consequences of being in the XXI century...
Cottage shops and LHS have hard days against web shops and other competitives.
The trend is that customers will keep doing their shopping through the web since its more comfortable and -most of the times- cheaper.
Old school guys like some of us still like to go to LHS, talk with actual people and see and touch the kit's boxes before buying, but I think we are a species in extinction...

I do both, have a walk in shop as well as a web presence. I deal with the pricing issue on almost a daily occurrence. Fact of the matter is if I had most of the major manufacturers within a 2-3hr drive from my shop, I too could offer the prices that LM and Hobby Easy offer, simply because they don't have the transportation factor to deal with, nor any (or at least much of) duties and taxes to pay on said items.

I am lucky that I am in an area where there are no other places to shop from save for something like Micheal's, but they are so overpriced and basically only sell the mainstream Revell kits.

Next closest shops to me is either a 4hr drive south, or a 6hr drive north. So lucky in that respect at least.

Scott, to be honest about shipping, considering the AMOUNT shipped, the cost per kit is VERY low. Pennies. It has been discussed at length before. Steven's prices reflect what they feel they can charge. That is why so many Hobby Boss, Trumpeter, etc... kits they get end up on deep discount sales every month. They still make money even after selling to Squadron etc at deep discount.

Well for one, Stevens doesn't have any Hobby Boss kits, unless they still have some left over from before they cut ties with Squadron.

2nd, Squadron doesn't get their Trumpeter products from Stevens, they are a 2nd importer for Trumpeter.

Pennies on the kit to transport? Not likely
