Thank you for the info and pictures! I think i will try to use the new Tamiya M1A2 SEP TuskII! I know that the Dragon kit is better detailed but it is very difficult to find and has rather difficult and complicated instructions . So i will try the conversion on the Tamiya kit! As i can see from the photos of the blast conversion among the other pieces blast offers the cupola ring! I think this has optional use since both Tamiya and Dragon kits offer detailed enough pieces for the cupola! So the only attempt is to fit the CROWS on the laser rangefinder of the Tamiya kit! From measurements i have done this part has equal dimensions in both DRAGON and TAMIYA kits, so i think that the CROWS can also be fitted on the Tamiya kit

According to the reference pictures posted above, does it mean a TUSK I and a CROWS v.2 conversion would be legit on a m1a2 sep ?

I am very happy to report that so far this conversion will fit on the Tamiya M1A2 TUSK. The only minor fit problem was around the dog house on the turret. A little bit of scraping and sanding at the Blast part fit just fine

These are really great news! Does the conversion comes with any instructions included? Do you have any photos with the crows mounted on the Tamiya Tusk?

Here it is, the CROWS mount is glued to the dog house but the dog house is not glued to the tank. Fits good

As far i can see it fits very good to the dog house! I suppose you scrapped and sanded the interior walls of the CROWS mount or it just fitted to the doghouse?

There are three little nubs of sorts on the inside of the blast part that I shaved down and I sanded and shaved all the corners and top edges of the Tamiya part being careful not to damage anything visible. All in all it's a good fit

Very nice job you did there! Very encouraging to see the blast conversion fitted on the Tamiya kit!

Hello,By any chance does anybody have a picture or know the purpose of part 15 on the real vehicle? I am assuming it is a mud flap of sorts to facilitate the back up camera? Any help would be appreciated!
Have a good one

Hi Jeff,
From the pics I've seen that's exactly what it is, but I have only seen them on 1st Infantry Tanks out of Ft. Riley. I want t built a Korea based tank but it doesn't look like they have the cameras and mud flap

James, I'm stumped but mud flap is all I can come up with. I have some pictures of 3rd ID vehicles, a few National Guard and a lot of 2ID tanks. The 2ID pictures I have are of both 2-9 INF and 1-72 AR neither show the rear. I have quite a few of the 2ID pictures if you want I could send a few. Let me know, have a good one, Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Sorry for the delayed response, been criss-crossing the country for about a week. I think I have enough pics for a Korea M1A2 SEP, just disappointed the camera and mud flap are not on that version. I'm not at the point where I am committed to either version so I may just go with a 1st ID tank, another sand one
Just picked up a Dragon Japanese Type 2 Amphibious tank in New Jersey so I may just dive into that one before I work on the M1 again
