I also place my bet on this vehicle to be equipped with Kontakt 1 on the turret roof Ñ

So when did they start fitting the BM with T-90 style tracks(forgive me I don't know the designation for them)instead of RmSh?

It's a modernized T-72B(M)2 on a picture. Clearly not a '90 pattern T-72B.

Is the specific variant to be released still used by the russian ground forces? And also are there any variants of T-62 and T-64 still in service for the russian army? If so which are the most appropriate kits in the market?

Did you see the parentheses?

Republic of Kazakhstan also used these.

Trumpy is cunning, they know their RMSh pattern T-72 tracks are dead wrong, so they offer T-72 with multi-link T-90 tracks.

A very welcome release for Russian armor fans! A version of T-72B w/ERA or a T-72B2 ROGATKA would be a very nice release and addition to the market ! Trumpeter think about it or do you already plan it!

If you are so concerned about a release date, just consider how long ago did Trumpeter announce their T-90, and its now already available... I'll say: "wait and you'll see, sooner than you may expect".

Its just a matter of perceived demand, and to fulfill a niche before other competitors offerings.
The same reason why on the other hand their long announced ASLAV Phase III is still only that, an announcement.

Whats wrong with their RMSh track? IIRC, the LTL ones they make are some of the nicest ones on the market.

The Russian Army doesn't use the T-64 anymore since it was made in the Ukraine and its a PIA to get parts for it. I also believe that the T-80 will be phased out because of its Ukrainian origins over time...

I'm assuming the T-62 might still be in service since it was used in Georgia a few summers ago.

Scott, the T-64 is still in "use" in that it is still in strategic reserves and any unit using them gets parts scrounged from scrapped tanks. They will slowly disappear, but they still exist in Russia. Ukraine still has stock of the T-64 and can still produce their most recent upgrade packages, both for domestic and foreign consumption.

T-80B and U are Soviet/Russian designs (OMSK being the manufacturer). T-80UD was Ukrainian (Kharkov being its manufacturer). (*ATTENTION* The previous statements are BROAD comments, not SPECIFIC or we will be here all day parsing it all out...) OMSK can still provide parts and do overhauls, and Kharkov is still promoting the T-84 "upgrade" of the T-80UD for foreign sales. And the T-80B and -U are still "in service" as well. Weather they wither or actually get upgraded often seems to change with the wind...

Knowing Trumpeter's use to exploit a "base" model (just watch T-62's and T-64's from them) and the release of things like the IT-1, I believe we may expect a whole family of the T-72 with good probabilities that our hopes will be satisfied ...

With all the due respect, I start feeling that you seem to need to complain about anything... and I explain why:
Trumpeter showed consistently that it is one of the most prolific modern armor kits manufacturer.
Just take a serious look at both the T-64 and T-62 families, as I pointed before, and you'll must accept that those kits were beyond anyone's imagination just a few years back and now they are real and available.
And they keep delivering, you can already get now the T-64 M1975 and the M1981. The T-90 kit is released too, and the first T-72 on Pre-order...
For me, that's great news. If you choose to see the glass half empty of course its OK, I just keep feeling that they are releasing kits in a pace I cannot follow.
If you think Trumpeter shows box-arts and no kits, what should we say about other respected manufacturers?

Add to my previous post the release of the T-80B, announced for November...
If Trumpeter does not deliver, I don' know who does
