Here is my latest work still in-progress

Dragon SU-100 1/35 with Master Club tracks

The model has been painted and panels painted with a lighter tone. Hereafter decals, clear varnish, filters, oli dot paint and some local wash.

Any comments are appriciated.

Hi Ole,
I'm doing Italeri's ditto. Not as nice as yours though. I was inspired to do some Russian heavy metal by your twin build with Johan. What colour is it painted in?
You going to DM?

Hi Ole,
Very nice ! I too would like to know what color you used.
I hope that my SU-152 will look as nice as your SU-100. The only thing I would change is the Red Star. It seems a bit too bright and clean. But you made a very old kit look very good. Thank you for sharing with us.

great weathering and fading effect on your su-100 - i'm sure the crew loved having that big conspicuous red aiming point right on the side of their vehicle! but it looks good. if I didn't know better, i'd think it was made of metal.
maybe this one was used in some sector where there were numerous su-100s captured and put into service by the other side, and preventing blue-on-blue incidents was imperative

The filters and washes should tone down the star quite a bit.

Looking good so far, Ole.

Hi guys

Thank you for all the feedback, it is much appreciated.

@John: I used Tamiya Nato Green XF-67 and the MIG productions set P253 for Allied green for filter and washes and you will se this SU-100 at DM and I look forward to seeing your SU-100.

@Tom: I know the star is too clean and too bright, but I have toned it down a bit with some buff coloured rainmarks. On the other hand, I like the splash colour effect, it has on the monotone green. According to Dragon instructions, this vehicle was used in Wienna 1945 and that time, the risk was probably higher to be hit by own forces that hit by Germans.. Or perhaps used for some kind of victory parade in Wienna.

Thanks again, guys.

Stay tuned for more.

Stunning work! May I recommend a darker shade of rust, on the exhaust? Just below the tips.

Very nice Ole,
Glad you toned down the star. If I was an anti tank gunner I would have used that star as a big bulls eye. But the Idea of a victory parade would make sense. Anyway I hope that my SU 152 looks as nice as yours does. Thank you for sharing tips and photos !

Great looking TD there mate. Were the tracks expensive and were they easy to assemble?

Hi Luke

Thank you very much.

The prices for Master Club tracks are app. half prices of Model Kasten or Friul, but not worth the price, since the assembly time is app. the same.

The assembled track is very fagrile and I lost some pins during the painting handling and the positive "click" from MK during assembly is not present and I would prefer Model Kasten or Friul any day.

The rusty wheels look terrific - well done. Also... I liked the idea of the big drum as the fuel tank in the initial pic.. have you seen that somewhere and what happened to that ?

Hi Gary and Clay

Thank you for your comments.
I posted the original pictures before the drum was painted...

But I just took some pictures today of the SU-100 including the drum, I just like the spalsh of color the dunkelgelb drum gives to contrast the green SU-100 and I would consider it for highly likely that a similar situation would occur during WW2.

Hi Ole,

That looks great !
I really like the green tones with the weathering, tracks are nice too.
I would just consider 2 small things, the red star looks too bright, might be because the photo was taken outside, don't know, just add some light dust to fade the bright red... but it might be the photo.
The other thing is adding some small wire to hold the yellow barrel simulating either a cable or rope since it doesn't sit tight in the original supports.

I like the rusted exhausts and the wash on the top of the tank it really stands out.
Congrats on a fantastic job !!

Hi guys

Thank you very much for your comments.

You are quite right about the missing rope or chain, I will add it.

The red star is bright and powerful and I have tried to tone it down a bit, but the red color is very strong here.

Thank's again, guys

Ole
