Kimmo,
It was pretty simple. In a container I had a mix of plaster and water that was fairly thick but still rather liquid. I torn the dry paper towels to rough size then "glued" them onto the base using the plaster/water mix using a large old brush. Probably 3 or 4 layers of paper towel applications make up the groundwork.

So just a DIY plaster bandage thingy? Cool. Looks the part.
