I think the K5 barrels are about 20 feet too short based on the drawing that shows the Ratte guns as being 68 feet. A 68' barrel should be about 592mm in 1/35 scale. The barrel piece in the K5 kit is 392mm.

BUT - I cannot determine if the 68' refers to the entire length or just the portion exposed outside the turret. It is possible if it is counting the whole length from tip to breech then they just may be the ticket.

How much are those metal barrels? And would they fit the Dragon version without too much effort? I have to say I've never seen them for sale so are they still available?

Just got the quote for two of the K5 turned barrels. $186.00 shipped. No can do.

Still working on the other options; a couple of which are going good.

Hey Mike,

You could see about using the 38cm Siegfried K (E) rail gun barrels. Length is 60ft. 5in. L/48.4 per wikipedia specs. Only 4 produced however. Could be a happy medium.

Over 30 years of working with various sized and branded table saws and up until this, I've only had two kick-backs. Eh, one KB left a scar...but this? Oy.

Healing up pretty good. Still fugly looking. I had the stitches taken out Saturday and yesterday I realized the fugnuts left one in. Eh, a little pullin', a little pokin', and some scissors...it's out.

So, if given the opportunity this weekend, I think the Ratte is ready for some more attention.

Welcome back, Mike! Keep all ten!

Grandson came in from Texas and he spent the weekend with us (he's almost 5) so...didn't get anything done but a coat of British desert "yellow" on the interior of my Quad Gun Tractor.

I feel like I'm letting folks down.

SO...I think I'm going to Panzer Grey one of the Kugelblitz's and weather it and get it all assembled, then start mapping out the camo for another. I really do need to get some of that done.

After I get a warm and fuzzy from some paint, I really need to get the "feet" on this beastie. I really can't do any detail work (rails, ladders, and the like) and then be able to put this upside down to do the road wheels. That's the plan. Time for some "me" time.

I'd like one of each of the above schemes. The other two should be the same color...I'm leaning towards Panzer Grey. Other option is Dunkelgelb. Thoughts on the color for the two solid ones??

You could have them installed and the Ratt crew preparing to repaint them to match the main hull.

Just catching up on your project this evening and saw the picture of your wound....OUCH!!!! Hope you are healing up okay.

Somebody might have suggested this already. I was thinking of the helicopter deck on your Landkreuzer P-1000 Ratte and just that maybe a Focke-Wulf Triebflügel would look cool there.

Hey Mike,

the first one (ambush scheme)uses the classic Dunkelgelb and Schokoladenbraun/ Rotbraun of German late war camos. THe third colour IMHO is too dark and greyish to be Dunkelgrün. It's more of a drak grey (panzer grey) with maybe a little green hue to it.

The second one is in medium green and buff/ earth...

It's a bit sad people have stopped commenting/ replying in this thread...

Don't be silly Mike your not letting us down at all. All major projects get bogged down by life at some point!
