The bags that look like backpacks in the 2nd (top left one) and 3rd (two on the bottom left) pics.

Pretty much finished on the interior, and commig along nicely on the weathering of the exterior.

I took some of the suggestions from Robert, I switched the go bags (didn´t have one!)for a more traditional backpack that I already had, and added the sniper rifle. Since the interior has limited visibility, I am not going to kill myself over it. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed.

I didn´t want to leave the exterior of the pickup in "pristine" condition like I saw in some of the dioramas assuming it is well into its deployment and actively used. I hope I didn´t overdo it.

I think it looks great and you didn't overdo it!

However, are you sure that the US special forces use(d) white pick ups? I'm asking because that colour is usually associated with the UN in conflict zones. I have seen pictures of US forces using other 'civilian' colours like red, blue, metallic cherry or silver, but I can't recall them using white.

I don't know the topic well, so I very well might be wrong though!

I saw this picture on the web, so I figured white was ok:

But maybe another member of Armorama can correct us.

I saw these pictures before, but I always assumed that the pick up on the pictures is (or at least was) silver.

Whatever, your work looks great so far!

Maybe silver, or light tan dusted over. But I picked white because it gives a better contrast with weathering.

picture with terrible lighting, but you can get an idea how far along we are. Added the X-wing SATCOM anntena.

Tomorrow I will post a picture with better lighting.

Ummm, yeah.... This pic and the previous one are of my gun truck. That's me on the back in the first pic
This one we called Goldielocks. Our other one on my photobucket site was Black Beauty. I built this a few years ago in 1/24 scale using the Aoshima Hi-Lux, and used a rattle can form Auto Zone of the exact Toyota color. It was actually a sort of champagne color.
If you enlarge the first photo you can see the door handle mod I mentioned earlier.
Also note that the X wing antenna is on the hood. It does not interfere with the gun there.

looking good! the scratching and weathering looks good.

Rob, how was the seat mounted in the tray? was it mounted on a pole to the bad, or to the back of the cab?

Looking good. And when I get to doing mine I'll mount the stacom on the hood. But my vehicle will be Black.

There was no seat. For a time I had a cargo strap stretched between the handles of the rear two fuel cans. I felt that sitting on it limited my SA, so I removed it and just stood behind the gun

Just have to add junk to the cargo area, and add some oil stains.

Very very nice. I think you should place the X wing antenna on the hood as was mentioned. Again. Really like the weathering.

Thank you charles. The problem is that I superglued the X-wing antenna and I am afraid it will leave a nasty mark if I yank it off. Plus I saw several reference pictures of SF pickups with the antenna on top, so I guess it is not so bad.

I think that is pretty much it for the guntruck. I am sure that some of the junk I put in the cargo box you would't really find in a SF guntruck, but it looked cool. But you tell me what you think.

Now I have to work on the KIA rebels, and start work on the actual diorama. That should be fun!

Seriously, man? Corona? This was Afghanistan, not Cozumel.
Think about it, what self respecting SF guy would put the beer in the gun truck?

See the Kamaz trucks next to my gun truck in the photo you posted above? That's where we kept the beer. Less of a target...

By the way, here's a photo of Black Beauty:

Now for some more suggestions. Lose the cigs. Most SF guys dip, not smoke. Fights have broken out over dip. A spit bottle in the cab would be entirely appropriate. And of course, my old standby - a case of Pepsi or any other caffeinated drink would not be back there.
In case the Kamaz is too full, the spot is better utilized for beer. Remember, space is at a premium.

Now, as for your use of Corona - I just don't remember drinking any...

On a more serious note, the gunner needs a place to stand back there. That's why we used the bed extensions.
