OK, so I've been told that the proper procedure to start a new campaign is to start a new topic here, see if you get at least 10 people wanting to join and _then_ submit a proposal to the moderators.
I've kinda done it backwards and already submitted the proposal, but they do want to see if 10 people indicate they'll join.
So indicate you'll join, already!!!
I want to get approved super quick so we can start after Christmas!

The rules will be exactly the same as last time, the proposed running time is 0:00 Jan 1 1014 to 11:59 Dec 31, 2014.
Military vehicle focused, but anything can be included that relates to military vehicles.
It goes without saying that I'm in.
Who's next??

Paul, the best starting date is either Feb or March, it will give some time for everyone to get ready ( buying or trading parts or kits ) also I have too many Campaigns starting and ending in January.
Another thing, I would strongly advise you to give no more than 7 / 8 months for a Campaign duration.
People loose interest and the thread gets into a coma on those last months...
I'd rather give extensions for some members to finish .
Starting Feb. 1st --- ending Oct. 1st would be a better ..
And I'm on this one too

I'm in.
If you haven't already you may want to post something about this one over on some of the other KitMaker sites.
Rules from What-If 3, for those interested.
Operational Overview
The aim of the what if campaign is to follow in the footsteps of the last What If campaign and allow users of Armorama to continue to create models and dioramas depicting what if scenarios/vehicles and possibly ships and aircraft if they are appropriate to depict different scenarios from alternative points in history. This will give modelers a chance to create something different and will encourage members to use there imagination to think of alternative scenarios that may have happened or may happen in the future. This campaign will run for one full year to accommodate the needs of the members here on Armorama so that participants have the chance to fully explore all the possibilities for projects while juggling life and the many other great campaigns of 2012/2013.
The Rules and Regs
-All scales are welcome.
-All possibilities are fair game as long as they are reasonably possible on a theoretical level. Please provide a backstory behind your proposed project.
-Game/Sci-Fi elements are allowed. This includes T2K, Fallout, Dust, Gundam Hard Graph, etc. Again, please provide a backstory for your proposed project.
-This campaign is intended to focus on ground forces. You may include airborne/waterborne/space elements as long as the main focus is on the ground forces subject.
- Partial builds requiring the majority of work to still be done are allowed, as well as builds from other campaigns provided that they are either used as part of a diorama constructed for this campaign or are significantly altered/modified for the purposes of this campaign.
- At least three in-progress photos, including an initial photo depicting the start of your project, must be posted in the official forum, more are encouraged. At least two photos of the finished project must be posted to the official campaign gallery.
-Any questions, please ask!
Contest Element
-One ribbon will be awarded to each participant who successfully meets all campaign requirements by the end date.

Beauty! So we're up to 8 already!
John,
OK, how about Starting Feb. 1st and ending Nov. 1st? This one was pretty active in the last couple of months although, granted, we had a bit of a lull at about the 5 month point. Will 9 months do it?

Oh, and John, is there a reason this thread doesn't show up in my list of threads in the "Campaigns" forum?. The only way I can find it is by clicking on the link I posted in the What If 3 campaign!

That's pretty cool Don (and another site I have to seek out) but it looks very big for just 6 dismounts.
Would you scratch the whole thing or what kit as a base?

It's either big for the number of dismounts or exceptionally low to the ground, meaning that the dismounts are loaded in horizontally on stretchers on either side of the turret. They don't get to shoot much, but they do get to the combat zone well rested...

I will probably do some kit bashing for some and most likely have to scratch build some of it. A lot larger than the IFV of today. I may have to stretch out an Abrams hull to get the eight road wheels and ample room for all the troops, even if they do have to lie down. Don M.

Can't wait for this one to start!
Picked up an M60A1 Patton that will be getting all atomic powered for my fallout diorama I will be making.
Also scored a big scorpion to make into a radscorpion and will most likely have to modify some figures for what I have in mind.

Paul & Don,
The large vehicle size and low height struck me as funny at first. I'm building a Puma IFV for the Big Cats Campaign and it's pretty big and has a low vehicle height as well. And come to think of it, BMPs are pretty low as well.
I would suggest heavier armament. Maybe a AT missile system or something to justify the vehicle's per unit costs.
