I had fun with the modulation but it kind of turned out too pale. Next step after brush painting highlights I will be doing a pin wash for détails and some very modest chipping I am thinking that maybe an overall wash to darken to a degree but without losing the effects of the modulation or maybe a home made filter a little on the heavier side again to saturate but with more control than a wash I never done it before but when I get to that point I think whatever option I chose will be applied with my airbrush. What are your thoughts on this little dilemma and how would you go about it Darkening slightly but without hiding

Is the turret sitting slightly lower on the left right side or is it just the picture?

the turret is ok it's the angle of the picture.
Well more work done I added a filter I mixed Sepia and raw umber with oderless turpentine approx 90% turpentine 10% paint I followed with a pin wash same colors but a little less turpentine in mix I wanted something subtle so wash was still thin but resultis apparent. I added and started painting stowage on turret and repainted canvas covers I thought the original color I started with was too orangy. well getting there. A little oïl fading and modulation are next on the agenda then the tracks and figures and a simple base. Quite a painting experience but I think it's coming along quite nicely and I am having a lot of fun
.
I am even thinking about my next project either the Meng FT17 or a Hybrid firefly of the Fort Garry horse with some really weird Steel wool camouflage
Cheers and thanks for dropping in

Great built! Congratulations Brian! I intend to build the Dalet version of Shot Kal and i would like to ask you some questions since you owned both the LEGEND and DEF conversions! As far as i have read you selected the DEF offering, since it is more easy to deal with in any way compared to the LEGEND I have read that a Baltan block (blazer) is missing on the left hand side of the hull top, next to the long Baltan block in front of the turret. Is that correct or the DEF includes also this part? Not a big issue but just to know! My main concern is the manlet cover which needs to be changed for the one in the Legend conversion, as far as i have read Are there any strong differences among LEGEND and DEF manlet cover? Anyway your built is excellent and great for me!

Dear Aristeidis
Legends vs def mantlet cover
well def for me you have to be a good surgeon if you go with legends because you must remove part of the turrett front while the def one fits into plage with no problem, the only down side is that there is a dynamic elevation to the DEF mantlet cover while the Legend one appears to be horizontal, I decided that I could live with an elevated gun overall I prefered the def conversion mainly because the resin was of better quality well cured hard and easily sandale I hated the moulding blocks of the legend conversion, but that is a matter of opinion. Apparently there is word that a full plastic kit will be available soon for the 1982 Shot Gimmel or dalet we shall have to see I saw sprue shots and a test build. From the look of it it has to be merely a proto because a few things wrong and the turret should be the area AFV should focuss on to improve before producing. commander's hatch and MG mounting and a few other things the gun mantlet is another area of concern if I am not mistaken late model shots had uparmoured mantlets under the spaced armour hopefully they get it right but between you and me it's about time that somebody brings out this kit
Cheers

Thanks for your reply Brian! The incoming release of the AFV CLUB Shot kal got me out of trouble with resin! Anyway your built is really beautiful! Many many congratulations!
