A few weeks a ago I managed to track down an Amusing Hobby Panzer VII Lowe. This tank originally a, "Paper Panzer," and led to the development of the Tiger II. The Lowe would have weighed in at a whopping 90 tons, the tanks gun was planned to be a 10,5cm long barrel gun, that's a big gun![:::] Of the tanks designed by the Germans besides the P.1000 and the P.1500 this tank had the widest tracks which would have been 1 meter or 3.3 feet wide.

Well here are my first few pictures of the build. I built the basic turret and gun assembly for this tank.
Here is the turret before hatches being added.

Seams between turret and turret chin.

Aluminum barrel I received with the kit.

Muzzle break before drilling out holes.

And after.

Test fit of barrel to the turret.

Now I am just a little scared this turret and gun is just as long as my WIP Bronco SU-152!

Any comments will be much appreciated.

I'll keep an eye on your progress since I've got the same kit in my stash, although without the metal barrel.

I'm very interested in seeing how you do the tracks too.

Drilling out the muzzle brake looks tedious, but it sure does improve the looks of it!

YOU SAID IT!!! It took me roughly 2 hours to get all those little holes drilled out, but man was it worth it! Just the turret is quiet impressive on this thing and it looks so great with the drilled out muzzle break.

It's huge...
With the weight of the metal gun, will the turret hold on to the hull ?

Turret stays on nice and firm, but the gun won't stay elevated due to the weight of the gun. On mine, I just glued some styrene under the mantlet in a way that it stays up.

As for drilling out the muzzle break, did it in about 10 min, but cleaning up those holes took some time. Now just wait for the "fun" working with the workable tracks.
