Hi everyone!
It has been a while now since I did a build for myself. I was eyeballing this M-10 in the stash for some time. It is th AFV kit wich looks pretty great.

I ordered the armorscale normandy resin kit:

I have a couple of ref pics that are good but I am looking for some solid ref on the early M-10 that served in normandy.
So, if anyone built this one before or have a great ref I am all ears
Phil.

As ref pics for the build I am aiming for something like those two mixed together.

The kit includes the type 49 tracks link...I think this was kind of rare...did not find any picture with them except as replacement links.
I may go with the type 48.

Philippe: My only caution to you in using the Armorscale sandbag set will be that it appears the master pattern maker put too many sandbags there. They rise above the top edge of the glacis plate -- obscuring the line of sight for the drivers' periscopes. In your 2nd photo on the 2nd post, you see clearly how the top level of the sandbags do not block the periscopes. Compare that with the resin set. Just an FYI

Hi guys
While waiting for all my good ies to get here I've started on the interior. Here is the radioman chair with the huge extractor mark sanded. I've also bored the back traverse for more crispiness

I have a question about the radio. If I am right the radio in the M-10 is a scr 508 with 4 instrument panel. Those panel were interchangable right? I haven't seen 2 pics where the panel are in the same order...
Anyhoo

I got some work done on the interior. The radio got a little more attention, I,ve manage to scratch the driver lever and a clutch. I gave a go at the ammo racks...they still need work and some straps. Still a fair amount to do on the inside but I am not gooing crazy with it either

If anyone has comments or suggestions please do tell.

Here is pics of the goodies:
The kit is well molded with no warpage and only a couple of bubbles. The hedge cutter has a very thin back plate as you can see on the photo; the light shows trough. Another thing is that there are no instructions on how to use the small parts wich I suppose to be the attachement points for the cutter.

For the price, I say it is good( about half of black dog) But I would go with BD next time to see the difference and have the extra stowage

Can't wait to get the other kit for the weird shaped cutter and huge stowage

After color, washes and pigments. I think I got it where I want.

I wish Dragon would make a M-10.
I wonder, did the Germans ever use those hedge cutting contraptions on the front of their tanks?

Thanks a lot Michael. I kept it simple since I had trouble cross referencing the interior photos I had.

The AFV offering can be found at a reasonable price on the internet

I bought mine from a friend for half price. I must admit I kind of miss the magic track that would come with a dragon kit! The ones in the kit are rubber bands and not quite of the accurate type

I had to get some t 48 tracks, once again from a friend and free of charge
I never saw the hedgerow cutter mounted on german afv...Maybe because they were in a defensive mode and the tall and wide hedgerow were actually helping them....But maybe I am completely wrong and someone here will clear that for us
Thanks for the good words mate.

I received more goodies.
Neo model's M10 accessory set. Nice molding, no bubbles, only minor warpage on a crate and sadly on the canva covered 50. cal.
I should be able to straighten it in hot water....

No, never. No need. They were defending all through the bocage country battles.

Interior looks spot-on!
So, all things considered, I'd have to say the Neo hedge cutter is worth the price of admission for the whole shebang. That's a nice part.
Keep it up, Phil, and I'm going to drag an old shelf queen out....
