Hi! I STRONGLY AGREE with M-1IP!!! An all-new M18 "Hellcat" is quite in order!!! Neither the ACADEMY, nor the AFV CLUB M18s are "spot-on", and this important Tank Destroyer deserves to be at least up-graded to the state-of-the-art quality that we enjoy today. Forget about AFV CLUB doing that with their M18. I'm not going to hold my breath with ACADEMY, although to be fair, ACADEMY DID improve their "new" M10, but they could have done more, in that respect, i.e, better tracks, and they improved the shape of the turret and the angles to the rear of the top-hull...
My own wish-list, all in 1/35:
It SHOULD be a logical step for CYBERWALLET/DRAGON to come up with a Bergepanther, as they already do THE BEST PANTHERS THAT MONEY CAN BUY...
An all-new US M5-based M8 75mm Howitzer Motor Carriage- The ancient TAMIYA M8 HMC is grossly inaccurate, and old, old, old...
An all-new WWII Dodge WC54 Ambulance
An all-new M6 37mm Gun Motor Carriage, based on the Dodge WC51-series trucks
A PLASTIC Mack NO 6x6 Prime Mover
Australian Cruiser Tank AC III and/or AC IV, which served as an invaluable training vehicle
German Pz.Kpf.III Ausf.A (The initial version with the 5 larger road wheel suspension)
Experimental German Pz.Kpfw.III w/FAMO Half-Track suspension)- weird, but eminently interesting
Another three logical steps for CYBERWALLET/DRAGON SHOULD be kits of a Bergepanzer III, Bergepanzer IV, and a Bergepanzer Tiger I. Who's with me on this?
An all-new US M1 Towed 240mm Howitzer, available with or without a prime mover- (This was the coastal howitzer adapted to US Army field-use; it was broken down for transport)
An all-new US LVT-1 Amphibious Tracked Landing Tractor- (This was our first amphibious tracked landing-vehicle, procured by the US Navy for use by the USMC during the earlier campaigns in the Pacific, notably at Guadalcanal, Betio, Tarawa and other wonderful Pacific vacation spots)
All-new US and British M3, M3A1 and M5, the early version of the M5A1, "Stuart"-series Light Tanks
All-new turret-less T8E1 Reconnaissance Tank, based on the M5A1 Light Tank
All-new US M7 Medium Tank- The M7 never made it into combat. The M7 was originally intended to be an all-new LIGHT tank, replacing the M3/M5-series tanks. Ordnance kept changing the specs for the M7: Heavier guns than the 37mm, thicker armor and heavier suspensions eventually led to the M7's re-classification as a "Light Tank" to a "Medium Tank". The Army's powers-that-be determined that we already had the M4-series Mediums in production and service, so why disrupt said production, training and service for a tank that wasn't any better than our M4 Mediums?
All-new US and British M3 Lee/Grant-series Medium tanks
General George S. Patton's 1939 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine
SHAEF Commander General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower's Packard Limousine
All-new US GIs and Officers, both in field service and in Class A Uniforms, US Medics, Sailors, both at work and on "Shore Leave" US Naval Beach Masters" Seabees, Marines and Corpsmen- (see above, GIs)
WE ARE IN DIRE NEED of WWII British Tommies, Commonwealth and ANZAC troops, British and French Colonials, Regular French, Belgians, Poles in National Defense as well as in British service, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish troops, all "At Rest" along with "On Patrol" and "battle" poses. A nice vignette of GIs standing in a "chow line" might also be nice. And PLEASE, we have enough German MG 42 teams and pointing SS Officers...
US WWI Doughboys and US Marines, in "at rest", and/or battle poses
Better 1/35 resin figures of "Ike" and George Patton. Lot's of great photos of Patton in his breeches and shirt-sleeves, with his "Sam Browne" belt carrying his IVORY, NOT "PEARL-HANDLED" REVOLVERS exist while he was serving in Northern Africa and Sicily...
DRAGON: A US-version of the MBT 70
DRAGON or ASUKA/TASCA: US Armored Recovery Vehicles M31, based on the M3 Medium Tank, and an M32B3, based on the initial M4A3 tank, with the 56-degree welded hull
US WWII 4x4 Chevrolet-version of the GMC CCKW-series cargo truck
"PROPER" plastic kits of the M60 and M60A2- These should be the logical next steps for AFV CLUB, which could be derived from their base-kit of the M60A1
All-new PLASTIC kits of the US M5 High-Speed Tractor. HOBBY FAN does one in resin, but A LOT of us would rather see it in plastic, I'm sure
Ditto for an all-new PLASTIC US M29 "Weasel", both in early and late versions.
An all-new US M8 Artillery Tractor
US M13 Half-Track, with Maxson Power-Turret, mounting twin .50 cal. AA MGs as opposed to the Quad-50 mount of the M16. Do you hear me, DRAGON?
US T14 Heavy Assault Tank- Never went into combat; neither did the M6A1, which DRAGON/BLACK PLAGUE chose to put into production.
T20 thru T23 Medium Tanks, which culminated in the T26/M26-series "Pershing" Tanks.
An all-new M46 "Patton"- Come on DRAGON, it's time to improve this one or do an entirely new kit altogether, and PLEASE, don't give it to the boys at BLACK PLAGUE, because they WILL screw it up somewhere-or-other
An all-new M47 "Patton"- ITALERI's M47 is OK, BUT!!! Need I repeat myself in asking for a "state-of-the-art" kit?
US T69, based on the M8 6x6 Armored Car, with a Quad .50 AA mount and a different turret- TAMIYA..?
Various US "inter-war" tanks and vehicles such as the Medium A Tank Model 1921, Mk.VIII "Liberty" Tank, the various T1 thru T3 Christie Tanks, the various T4 thru T4E1 Combat Cars and Light Tanks, and of course, the M2-series Medium Tanks, which evolved into the M3-series Medium Tanks (Lee/Grant)
HOBBY BOSS needs to improve the shape and dimensions of their US 6x6 CCKW 352 and CCKW 353 "Hard-Cab/Soft Cab" and the length of their respective frames.
ICM does a Lend-Lease Russian Studebaker US6 6x6, which is virtually identical US version, but we could also use International's version of the 2 1/2-ton 6x6. The designation escapes me at the moment. I suppose one could use the old ITALERI 6x6 "Katyusha" as a donor-kit to convert/kitbash the aforementioned International 6x6, but wouldn't it be far easier to deal with an entirely new model of it?
I'm sure that I can think of other subjects, but I'll move on instead...
