Guido, one thing I am struck by when looking at your build is the absolute consistency of the finish. Every square mm of this build gets the same level of care. There is not a single area that looks as though you took a shortcut or forgot to apply your weathering techniques. This is one of the best examples I have ever seen of a model that inspires. This is why I decided to join here in the first place. Thank you!

Eric

@ Eric, your words really touched me....thank you so much !!! I do always fight against my will to do more than one only model a year. But this means shortcuts for each model am involved with. So....still prefer taking all the time I need. Thank you once again.
@James....thank you too. Yes...my Doobi is on the latest AFV Modeller issue. Thanks again to David Parker !!

Well said Eric ... completely agree!
Guido, phantastic work! During building an painting stage I was hoocked. But with weathering you raised the bar again. There are so much excellent details without beeing overdone .. you're a master. One of the best buit, painted and weathered models I´ve ever seen online.
Cheers and congratulations.

Still weathering the turret. Chipping effects with AK fluid and rusty pigments on Doher's tools.
Thank you all for watching.

Hi Guido,
I've never seen anything as amazing as what you do with this model. It is just fantastic, I looked thread from beginning to now with bated breath. How is it that here I have not looked into? What you're doing is very inspiring to improve their skills.

Hope not to bore you for so many pics at each new step.....but I do like the final result of how straps are wrapped around the bars.....as in the real one

James....straps are made from lead foil....the thinnest I found....it comes fron Xray cover film I used for my work. Easy to cut without it to kink.

what an impressive piece of work. Every M109 guy will tell you, for sure.
Just one question: why are all moveable parts of IDF vehicles red? And since when?

Thank you Paul. Red are all those points needing immediate location by the crew. Or those that require care.....as parts to be constantly lubricated. Don't think to be wrong telling you many crews in IDF love to use red randomly......that means for example, you can see two Dohers side by side with different red painted parts.
