Hi all, this is my new work. M109 from AFV, Voyager pe, Black Dog interior set, Real Model engine, Legend conversion......think it could be enough. I already completed the hull, fixing its compartment and the engine. Many parts have been added from scratch. Enjoy my pics.

Front hatches have been rendered movable in any position.

Very nice. The interior and the engine compartment came out really nice. I have both and plan on using them on a US M109A2.

One question, why are some of the powder cans blue? The others shouldn't be green like US ones either. The IDF uses all white powder cans.

Rounds come in different colors by type; dark green - HE (high explosive) , light green - WP smoke, gray - HC smoke, white - illum, yellow - HEI (incendiary), black - armor piercing.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Yes. ..thank you Gino....you r right. Michael Mass told me the same....honestly I didn't care too much about the cans color.....as it will be barely visible in the end even if I'll keep opened all the hatches. So I preferred chosing for a much visible color.....call it as my freedom and nothing more :-)

Fantastic! This was one of my dream projects as well... You are using all the stuff I was thinking would make an amazing model. Can't wait to see your magic on this one, I will be following closely, saving the photos for my reference.

BTW, have you found any photos of Doher interior? I didn't find much...

Cheers,
Mario

Interesting. I have no idea what the blue powder can would be for. Usually that color blue is used to denote inert practice ammunition or a training aid.

For example, the one on the right:

It's for exactly that - practice. We used some in our A5's as part of our recert at Ft. Sill. Those bags can come apart pretty easily. No sense boogering up perfectly good powder for training.

VERY nice job on the interior. The seats look especially convincing.

Adding anti slip bars.....they are provided in the Legend set but think are better from plasticard than pe. I still miss some plus their welded points.

Simply amazing work! The interior is marvelous. Good catch, on the ammunition. Luckily, for me, my dad served in the artillery, then EOD. I have a couple of old manuals. What brand of paint did you use? It looks to have a glass-smooth finish.

Thank you Matt....yes I always like to have a semigloss coat on my models....prefer that look. Microscale semigloss is my favourite.

I meant for the colors, but will keep that in mind, as a top coat.

Matt...I used colors from many brands....Valleyo, Tamiya, Humbrol....they come out matt, so I used the semigloss in the end.

The gun travel lock has been redone...main part from the kit, resin Legend pieces and details from scratch.

The real one.

And mine.

This makes me move mine further up towards the top of my wishlist. Now I'm even considering some of those AM parts

Guido amazing work as usual!

My question; the torsion bar housings (parts A5) that are in the AFV kit, are they able to be used when you put the Black Dog interior in? I'm looking at your pics and it would look impossible to use. Does the interior fit right over the tops of those housings?

Only curious because I just started to do an M109 and I want to use the black dog interior as well, and I don't want to use the part A5 only to have to remove them.

Thanks!
