All,
In-between business trips (I'm writing this from a hotel room) I managed to finish the Space Wolves:
They've been delivered to my daughter, and soon will see action in a future War Hammer 40K war game.

.....Those game rules/instructions look extremely detailed and professional. I wish I could zoom in and read them fully. I almost spit out some coffee when I read the line on the Activation Points and Movement Table: “Laugh at opponent’s expense—1 AP”
Your brother does some great work. Stamping/pressing/cutting the bricks into the foam seems simple yet ingenious. Is he a member here? Does he build the structures and you do the vehicles and figures?
So, what have you been working on recently? Got anything new with which to amaze us?
Keith
Hey Keith !!!
Firstly the rules, if you'd like to have shifty at them (warning they're not finished) PM me your email addy and I'll send you a PDF to look at.
And if you liked the AP cost in those rules here's a snippit from our Tank vrs Tank skirmnish rules (think tabltop WOT) ...
As for my brother no he's not a member here, he doesn't do enough straight modelling as he mostly paints gaming figs. We tend to divvy up the workload when we have a project on, when there's tanks involved I do those and he does the infantry and the bulk of the terrain.
And what have I been up to? Well until recently I was still too ill to even sit at the modelling table. Now I'm at least doing that and have gone into a rapid building phase, in part in case the illness catches up again soon and in part to make up for being away from the glue for so long ...
Soooo at the moment I'm flat out assembling tank platoons so we can playtest our revised tank rules. Here's a little recent progress ......
Brent
ps Love those Wolves !!!!! They really came out ace and we'd be more than happy to have them in the display cabinet let alone game with ....

I built 2 chess sets from Flames of War and donated them to the USO for their silent auction. 2 sets brought in a total of $2750. Time well spent.

Hi Tim,
The material must be close if not identical to Dragon DS tracks. It feels and handles the same, I glued mine (I always do) with CA so I can't confirm they glue with normal plastic cement but they certainly feel like they would.
The detail is quite good, ok on the outside and a little thin on the inside faces. If I could have afforded it I would have replaced them with OKB resin tracks which are superb ...
cheers

@Brent--Funny stuff! It lead me to wonder: has anyone ever incorporated the troops taking time to eat, or taking care of "other bodily functions"?
And, as always, magnificent work. Can't wait to see 'em done.
Also, thanks for the kind words. I was happy with the end result.
@Jon--that is a brilliant, yet so simple, idea for a chess set. Congrats on the auction take. As Brent noted: for a good cause.
I hadn't heard of FoW. Interesting stuff they got there. Yet another place to spend hard-earned modeling funds!

@Jesper--Those two knights(?) came out really well. Very nice. Little lead figures? What game are they from?
That mech is truly impressive!! Outstanding metal work, detail, and groundwork! What scale and how big is that behemoth?

That Behemoth is plain awesome! Is this available as a kit? What manufacturer? I already envision some kit bashing based on this one

@Jim--very cool! For those like me who are mathematically challenged, remind us just how big "28mm" is. They look small, but what detail!
Looking forward to seeing your slightly more modern infantry.
(Sorry about the late reply. Even with email reminders I've been remiss at getting back to my own threads!)

Scale is more or less 1/56th....
Posted: Sunday, November 22, 2015 - 01:06 AM UTC
Nice, Jim! how about sending them in against my GIs...
Here's an update. Added two infantry to each squad, as well as a 2-man command section, medic, .30 cal MG team...
...and a french resistance squad.
Really like this new hobby, already have a 3-man Forward observer and a 60mm mortar team in the works, as well as a Jeep and halftrack almost ready.
Cheers!
Stefan

Very nice work Stefan! Couple of weeks ago I finished a late-war German platoon for a local store. I must admit, that some of the Bolt-Action figures leave a little to be desired as some of them tend to be a bit on the 'squat' side and some of the weapons could be considerably improved. On the workbench at the moment are the following:
MoM Niniatures light Infantry Pikemen
Teutonic Knight Cavalry
12 Space Marines in their 'snazzy' yellow finish (more than anything else to master yellow.
Perry Miniatures' 15th Century English longbowmen

Thanks, Jim. Let's see those late war Germans, would be interested!
Here's my latest work, ready just in time for Christmas. Not that that is any relevant, it's just the deadline I set myself...
Cheers!

Hey Gents,
Sorry for no keeping up and commenting but I've been struggling with illness for the last 6 months or so and unable to model at all. Things are okish at the moment and I've even managed to get in a little bench time so hopefully things remain manageable .....
Anyway;
Jesper, very impressive knight! I'd love to have a crack at one or maybe a Warden even sometime, they're such a big canvas to play around with colours.
Jim, Saxons and Saga - very hard core!! Can't with to see the Teutonic Knights, I was going to grab a pack of the Fireforge ones ...
And nice Bolt Action US stuff Stefan, that M3 H/T is superb!
And .... I've made a little progress on my Bridge Too Far commission (28mm - 1/56th), trying to catch up as it's pretty overdue. Got the 251/8 and Grabners Humber almost finished, another few days detailing and then on to the next group.
cheers
Brent

Wonderful stuff Brent! I've also started on some 1/56th vehicles and the beginnings of a company of Desert Rats along with a 'production line' of Dark Ages and 15th Century Archers...

Hi,
Just spotted this topic and have enjoyed reading through the posts. I don't wargame any more but I have photos of some of my stuff when I did. Most of my Space Wolf army is now sold off along with my Warhammer Empire army, but I have a few photos of some of the pieces
Empire Captain
Gamesday Ork
Space Wolf Blood Claw Sergeant
Space Wolf Blood Claw Pack
Space Wolf Land Raider
Space Wolf Leman Russ Tank
I also did WWII wargaming with 1/72 tanks, which is what got me back to Braille Scale modelling, here are a few wargames pieces...
Prieser Mortar Crew
SdKfz 261
Bison SPG
This is just a small selection, I will have a look to see if I have any more models that may be of interest.
Thanks for a very enjoyable thread.
All the best,
Paul

Hey Paul !!
As you can see I've had a ton of 28mm and 1/48th stuff which has kept any 20mm progress to almost nil.
Anyway nice pics Always liked Spacewolves, at one stage I was going to use them a basis for a big chunk of my "Brits n Space" project. Always fancied they looked a bit like wild Scotsman!
I think I spy a few AB guys lurking near the 261 and which kit is the Bison? the Attack or UM one .... ?
Look fwd to some more pics if you can dig em out at some stage
cheers
