H.P. I appreciate the efforts, I truly do but I am in search of a photo of the end of the wing itself when it is off the plane.
I hope to model the wing root as accurately as possible. From what I understand there is a steel "I" beam protruding out about 20 inches - this is the wing spar itself. Then there are some control rods/pipes and some wiring.
All this hardware precludes the base of the wing itself from being pushed all the way forward into the corner of the CCKW load box when the aircraft is broken down for loading.

How easy/difficult was it to drop the Italeri cab onto the Hobby Boss frame? Were there any modifications needed, or the need to build up areas?

Steven, Evan, It is a fairly easy change out. One thing though - the Italeri fenders have an oil pan cast between them. You have to glue in some cross-wise spacer bars front and rear and then cut away this oil pan to make room for the Tamiya or HobbyBoss* full engine.
Of course you could skip this step and just use the Italeri oil pan and not have a full engine.

I don't recommend using all three manufacturer's products for the cab conversion. I am doing it here but it is a little more fiddly than just using the entire Italeri cab and fenders for the conversion. Also here I have cut the hood open to see that nice HB engine so I had to extend the top of the firewall a bit.)
