Careful on that tire size. The tractor was designed to fit either 12.00-20 or 14.00-20 tires, as opposed to the smaller 10.00-22 used on the prime mover.

The Dragon Wagon used 14.00-24. I'm not sure they would have fit on the 666.

10.00-22, Standard construction. I think it might be a obsolete size. The M939 series uses 10.00-20 or 10.00 x R20.

Pat I am going to refrain from weighing in on the tire size question as I would be on shaky ground reference wise. All I will say is the style of the larger rims used post-war on the 666 appears to be the same/similar to those used on the Dragon Wagon.

I will play around with a spare set of DW tires and rims tonight but I suspect you are correct.

Tonight I added some brake lines to the the rear axles as well as some electrical taillight wiring.

Also added brake lines to the front wheels and a fuel line to the fuel filter on the left front frame member.

I agree, I like the looks of your two axle trailer with the "break back" fold down ramp but I kinda have my heart set on the smaller single axle trailer shown in the photo below. I don't have any construction reference on either trailer but I feel I can "engineer" a fairly close "what if" scratch version of this one!

(Also it gives me a nice way to display my Mirror Models bulldozer when it is finished!)

Someone, but I don't know who, makes a nice resin kit of the trailer I am interested in. I hope to come across this one someday.



Also Custom Factory makes a similarly styled Russian trailer but of course I won't be using that one with my US White Tractor.

Is there any reference books for the White 666 series of trucks or perhaps any “walk around” photos of the details….. I like the detailing your are doing to your subject…. reason I asked is because I too would like to detail when I build mine…with brake lines, wiring etc…… your build is looking good….

I am just basing my brake lines on common industry practice but even then I am sure I have some details wrong.

The only reference I know of is the original Army TM Tech Manual.

I imagine the TM for the White truck would be available on disk from Easy 1 Productions.

Head and taillight lenses arrived today from SKP Models.



This is a GREAT product that really adds depth and visual interest to a model!

One criticism though: This is the set for the CCKW. Two of these reflectors should be amber and not red. Makes me wonder why the two item #7's are set apart on the fret?

The two reflectors on the CCKW Deuce cargo truck that face forward on the front corners of the load box should be amber!

p.s. - I may need to order another set of reflectors now that I have the 20 ton trailer coming from ScaleLink in the UK!
