That Puma must be a huge model when built.. will make a great diorama centerpiece

So, both the AMX and the VBL can be portrayed in an Afghanistan diorama as such? That's cool, we can use Blast's French figures with them

No, Aristeidis, I'm afraid there's still no news regarding price and date of release.. I don't know why they're taking so long

Thursday I sent an email to Tiger-Model asking about the release date. They responded today by saying that very soon the VBL will go on sale in Europe.

Did someone say "1/35 Puma"?
No, but there is the 1/32 Revell Puma that would do quite nicely. It just needs some French markings and maybe some updating to make a current bird (not sure).

Not sure if it take "only a few updatings" since the kit is the ancient Matchbox kit reboxed by RoG with Bundesegrenzschutz markings and extras.
CAD Images mean nothing.

I just noticed on the upper right corner on the VBL box-top, among the kit features, it says "Great parts fit for easy and happy build".. now that's something I want to read more of on box tops

Most of the French Army Puma helicopters fleet has been upgraded and this new version is called AS532 Cougar (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocopter_AS532_Cougar ) :

but the variant often seen in Afghanistan was the Armée de l'Air EC725 Caracal :

mmm, the green plastic of the VBL looks very Revellesk to me, and the details don't look as sharp as the tan plastic of the AMX. It's a worry. Either way, I'm getting one!

Sharpness has nothing to do with the color of plastic.

I don't think he means that the color of the plastic has something to do with the sharpness of the details

Besides, in this pic here, which is in color, the plastic is not green.. I think all that we're seeing are early test shots. We should wait until we see an actual production kit

Looking good!!
They are only announcing "available this summer" without any specific date.
I guess these kits will be sold directly by ModelMiniature in France which should be perfect for delivery.

Gentlemen, the colour of the plastic reminded me of Revell kits, and didn't highlight the detail well.
I will be getting one of these, most likely the AMX, regardless.
thanks Hisham (and all others) for a great thread.

Looking at the closeup makes me think the Famas (assault rifle) seems to be a way too long (proportion)...
