I don't think the FAMAS are too long, if you look closer at the pics you can notice that the support for the stock is molded with the rifle (as well as the barrel lock) hence the appearance of a longer stock.

Well,
let`s make it short: the AMX-10 is a sure buy. It`s simply to interesting (ugly) to not build it.....

FAMAS could be done sharper.

Well, not AFV Club-level of sharpness, but still passable in my opinion.

Quoted TextThat AMX-10 - is it the version used in A-stan right now?
Here's one there :
The uparmored variant was used there as well :
But French troops left Afghanistan at the end of 2012...
H.P.
Thank you!!! I missed the fact that France left A-stan. Too much conflicts to follow!
As for the new pictures (thank you, Hisham, for keeping us up to date), it actually looks good. The green plastic is a PIA to prime, thought!

yes I thinkl you're right this is due to the fact there is no "magazine" (chargeur) on this one.
So let's wait and see for real ;-)

Having spent weeks trying to put together an AFV Club plow for a Stryker M1132 I can accept passable now

It actually looks perfectly acceptable to me....

Now we wait to, hopefully, see a review of these kits soon... and for stores to actually put them up for pre-order

The sharpness of the FAMAS is not a show-stopper for me, even if it were a plastic blobb with no resemblance to the weapon whatsoever.
I am more interested in the vehicles. :-)

The idea is that the sharpness of the gun could be an example of the sharpness of the rest of the parts
In any case, like I said.. let's wait until we see a review and maybe some clearer detailed shots... And maybe the reviewer could actually put some of the parts together to give us an opinion of the fit of the parts

Just found a pre-order at a place called Sincere Hobby in HK... the VBL for about $30 and the AMX for $40 and the 1/72 M1 for $16 (without shipping)... so, not a bad price, I think

If those prices are correct they are very good.
As for the FAMAS I don't think it looks that good- BUT- its not the first time I've seen a poorly moulded rifle in an AFV kit. The SA80s in Hobbyboss' Landrover WMIK spring to mind- they were quite poor- oversized too if I remember right. I'm sure there are some nice resin or perhaps plastic FAMAS rifles out there in 1/35 that would be a bit better. Personally a poor FAMAS doesn't diminish the quality of the kits which look good to me.

Hobbyeasy will be listing them soon, also
Interesting looking modern AFV's that haven't been kitted in plastic before.. what's not to like? I've already reserved one of each

Thanks, Hisham for all the info on these kits.
Blast Models does a French Modern accessories set and a set of French FAMAS in a weapons set that would go with these kits. I'm sure someone will come up with replacement wheel sets as well.

Karl, you put it so much better than I did, this is basically what I was trying to say. Poorly detailed weapons have often been included in kits that otherwise have been very good (how many good Sherman kits have had awful 50 cals for example). Lets trust that its the same here.
I still feel that the initial images look very good, so I am staying optimistic. I can certainly live with a poorly detailed weapon which represents approximately 0.2% of the kit :-)
Hisham, those prices are pretty good I must say.. :-)

Good evening all.
After some study of the sprue shots on PMMS I think it looks alright at the end of the day its one of their first efforts and Im willing to take a hit and pre order why not, basicly I want something different then my usual builds and this fits the just for fun bill.
I checked their website and it looks as though they have a lot of stuff planned going off the categories they have listed its healthy for the Hobby in general to have a new manufacturer around look at trumpeter for example the early kits were less than desirable but at present there are very few complaints.
As for the the M1A2 TUSK it looks as though you can get an A1 from the same box so realy thats another win for the Hobbyist in general.
Cheers Ben.

For Famas the old Dragon "Foreign Legion" set has 4 excellent Famas rifles! The figures are only usefull for Gulf War 1 but the Famas Worth the interrest.
By the way, if you close the VBL doors you'll don't see the rifles.
