Master Box: Over the TopPosted: Thursday, June 25, 2015 - 02:01 AM UTC
MasterBox has sent us news of the figure sets being released onto the market from them in July. There are three offerings aimed at the military modeller, with two of the new offerings take the modeller back to the dark days of World War 1; the third offering is the ever popular World War 2 and an interesting set of German Bikers.

Good to see them adding to their WW1 range. I like the French Biker too.

Maybe with a couple of the British sets I'll be able to do "blackadder goodbyeee".

The motorcycle figures look like great poses. Wish they included the cat with the French bicyclist.

The WWI set is really gut-wrenching. It really drives home how savage and brutal trench warfare had been.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw this new British set!
All these new sets are great- plenty of uses for them and the poses are dynamic- plus I think their box art is getting better and better too!

I think it's cool that they're including the trench with the British Infantry set

I will be deeply disappointed if the Frenchman doesn't come with the cat.

Fantastic news. Several years ago I wouldn't I would have never bet on seeing all of the diverse WWI kits that we are seeing today...at least not injection-molded. Even Tamiya is getting in on the act. I have a whole new realm of subject matter that I can buy and not build. Thank you Masterbox!!!

The included trench section is a thoughtful touch, but it looks a little too neat, and perfect. IMHO a scratch-built one (for those inclined [and not too much "razzle-dazzle" involved]) with lots of litter and clutter would look more convincing. Maybe a tank leading the assault...hmmm...sounds like the beginnings of a dio.

There is no cat on the sprue, I was thinking of a female figure in fair well sweetheart sort of scene.

Masterbox makes several other period and suitably posed female figures - even naked ones!

Masterbox are doing some fantastic stuff. The trench looks like it could a great project. A few more sandbags, wire and mud are all that's needed. Oh and of course Private Baldrick.

I was thinking the same thing! Using the figures to do the scene from the touching last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth.

Great items from MB that's true but i have a little issue about the French biker though. The French and Belgian army were wearing in general almost the same style of uniform during the invasion of the low countries in May 1940.I like the French Biker too.
These are my concerns ;
The figure in the box does not wearing anklets but leggings.
The type of ammo pouches were not used by the French army like the type of gas mask as well . The green color of the helmet is wrong too IMHO.
Nevertheless , the kit Over the Top looks awesome
