I changed the assembly sequence slightly (ok Big Time )
Below I added these parts to the rear hull.
Hear are the rear fuel drums, I added the mounting brackets to the drums instead of the rear hull so they would be removed for painting.
The bottom of them.
There are no instructions for fuel lines, how they are hooked up ?
The instructions for the smaller Oil Drums aren't verry clear.
This is how I assembled them.

Working on the Upper Hull.
Install all the lights first.
On installing the light guards on the right side I installed C23 first, after it was set I then installed C24, let that set up & finally C25. You can try gluing them together first, but this worked best for me.
The Tow Cables are plastic they are already molded to shape for each side is different.
Here are the screens for the grills , the 2 outside ones will have to be shaped to fit the curve of the Grills.

The finished Hull Top except for the Drums, they will be added after painting.
Be sure to hook the Tow Cable to the Tow Hook before gluing it to the Hull.
Now it's on to the Turret.

Donald,
As I understand it the large fuel drums are merely carried and are not connected in any way to the vehicle (unlike, say, the Tamiya T72M1).
The smaller drums are in fact smoke discharger canisters, not oil. These were replaced on later Soviet Tanks by the means of injecting fuel on to the exhaust manifold, thus producing a smokescreen.
Anyway, that's just for info; this build is very informative.

There is a notch on the left side of E9 it fits on the tab on E 10
Be sure to install E 10 so the tab is on the correct side . I almost screwed up here.
E8 , E15 ,& E16 go on next.
I Dry Fitted E 9
Finally for today I installed the 2 Pe strips on the installed storage box. Be extra careful here as it only fits one way.
The curves on the ends are slightly different.
that's all for now.

Very nice build so far.My kit arrived yesterday.I can't wait to start it. I do have a question about painting it.What color are you going to use? Were they still 4BO green?

I have been following this build, but have not said anything. It is looking very good. I plan on doing both the Meng and the Trumpeter ones at the same time. A long time ago I did the Tamiya one, so these will sit next to it.

I have the Major Sub Assemblies finished and ready for clean up & painting.
First the Turret.
I assembled the Tarp I'm not using it here.
I had to do a little filling on the seams .
There is nice detail on the ends.

Now to the loaders Mg.
I first glued the Gun Cradle halves G 15 & G 16 together without the Gun .
Then assembled the Gun Mount.
Use G 10 for a level Gun & G 8 if you want the Gun elevated .
The Gun Barrel has a very loose fit into the receiver make sure it stays straight while the glue sets up .

Tarp looks great. So does the AA gun. 14.5mm, I think..... I believe RB has a metal replacement barrel for the BTR-60 that would be a great replacement.

I have the tracks assembled , the following Pics. are how I did it.
First off you should carve a notch in the bottom part of the Jig as shown. It will allow clearance for the Guide horns on the track.
A slight correction, The sizes on the Jig should be in Mm not Cm.

Here are the final 3 Pics. of the finished Track.
The instructions aren't really clear , about if the large track pin heads go inside or out.
You should also take care as the fit of the pins are very tight.
I bent some , but there are extras.

Educated guess says large heads are on the inboard side of each track.

I joined the track run into a loop below is how I joined the ends.
The pins are rather fragile and you need some support for the track while joining them together.
To install the Track I first removed the idler wheel then started with the Drive Sprocket and worked my way forward slipping the track over the wheels , then compressing the torsion bar arms so I could reinstall the idler wheel. It worked really well.
Here is the finished assembly .
I think that I will glue all the Torsion Bar arms in position now as the pins holding the track together are very delicate .
