Also hand painted some of the headlight assemblies where I wasn't sure if an airbrush would reach. The headlights have been glued on as well as the water propulsion units. Time to fit the deck to the lower hull.

Deck glued on.

Later will be a stress test to make sure it's glued on tight. If it passes, all the rest of the parts will be glued on and it will be ready for the airbrush. *GULP*

Hi guys,
Great to see so many making progress. Can't believe this campaign is almost over. I'm calling my weasel done. I added some washes since my last post but I'm not going to weather it yet as I'm having to handle the model a lot to fit the figures in. I haven't painted a figure in 30 years so its going to take me more time than we have for me to complete them. I'll add the final photos in the campaign album.
I found a pack of the Tamiya US Combat Group figure set in my stash that had several seated figures in it. Therefore the dio I put this kit in will be NE Europe based. I know they're not the best figures but they fit and were already in hand so why not. It keeps with my retro build theme. I'm pretty happy with the driver. I'm still working on the arms for the passengers but these are a starting point. Both passengers will be hanging on to their rifles with their right hands and I may put a cigarette between the fingers of the left hand on the passenger behind the driver. Lots of filling and trimming left to do.
I'll add extra personal kit to fill the vehicle. Nearly all the period photos I've found were almost devoid of extra stowage except personal items.
Good luck everybody with getting your builds finished this week.

while building this it occurred to me that i have forgotten too much of the hobby, and my skills need a lot of work. well, gotta start somewhere... but it was fun:)
edit: i have asked a one month extension

Hello,
Twice I've broken the railings by the side of my schwimmwagen, so I'd better call this one done before I do it again. My contribution to the campaign:

The stick grenades were inspired by a period pic of a schwimmwagen I saw sometime back. The tail light is definitely not accurate, but I thought I'd pop something in rather than paint a flat surface.
Had fun with this build and campaign Nathan -- thanks for leading this. Cheers to all participants!
Tat

Pawel, I really like your Ford GPA. The detailing and weathering are spot on.
