I have some more work finished.
This next Pic. is very important. If you want the Gun Barrel to remain level and not droop down make sure the gear in the Pic. operates .
The hinge on the Turret front vision block is very tight, I just glued it in the open position.
The Co axle Mg. installed.

The instructions would have you install the Turret Front Armor Plate with the Gun to the Turret top (DON'T)
Install it to the Turret Bottom instead, it's a very tight fit but if you have to install the bottom last Well Good Luck there.
I installed F5 to F6 as shown below
Then clip F5 to the upper front as shown and fasten the cylinder part to the floor as shown.

Here is what the inside of the Turret looks like.
I still have a little wear and tear to add but not too much.
There'll be more after the Holidays.

Thank you, but just so you aren't too disappointed , I don't do really heavy weathering.
In reality most armored vehicles didn't survive long enough to get really beaten up. oops I think I just opened a can of worms here. Ok every one jump all over me.

I am a new-comer to "Armorama" and to armor modeling in general.
I find your attention to detail and the commitment you put into documenting your build very helpful.
I plan to build mostly 1:16 armor, as my disability, age & eyesight prevent me from working with the smaller scales.
I'm working up the nerve to try one of these "Trumpeter" kits with the interior, but think I'll start out with the simpler "HobbyBoss" 1:16 kits to get my feet wet.

I see where you are coming from, I'll be 79 this coming spring if I live that long. As for the Hobby Boss kits, I'm not to sure about most of them. If you get their Tiger I kit, it's an old Radio Control Kit, I know I have it. It should be an easy build.

Ok , now back to the build.
I have the Turret top installed , there are some fit problems here.
Below is what I did.
I filled the seams and sanded everything smooth.

I replaced the weld beads with some from Archer Fine Transfers.
They should look fine under some primer and a coat of paint.

no base for this one. while it is big compared to a 1/35th. scale one, it's not as big as the king tiger build that I have in the large scale section of the forums .

Now it's the Commanders Cupola.
I drilled and pined the hatch cover.
The instructions show the vision blocks in the closed position, they can also be placed in the open position as shown.
The parts for the Cupola.
The vision units finished.

Test fitted into bottom half of Cupola.
You will have to work the pad blocks between the vision assemblies
to get them to fit. the small arm spread goes on top.
Don't forget to trim off the small bump on the back of the upper right arm of the pads .
If you trim the tops of the vision assemblies the upper cupola part will fit better. I found out too late.
Place the Cupola top evenly over the vision parts and press top and bottom together.

I had to use pliers to get them tight enough to glue. If I had trimmed the vision unite they probably would have gone together easier.
Well I got it together finally.
The top is temporarily attached.
That's all for now, I'll be working on the Turret Skirt Armor next.

I installed the external air cleaner & cover plates for the rear grills.
There are some small wing nuts that hold the plates down.
It's in the paint shop for the Camo. paint.
I'm working on the pioneer tools now.
Happy Modeling New Year.

Donald,
In the beginning of this thread, you said you don't hear from many modelers. If I may say, I think it's because of the high quality photos. I'm not sure what system a lot of people use, but I use my iPhone and itll rarely load your thread to view the pictures without crashing. So maybe many other people have the same issues and can't post? Just a thought. I know if the photos weren't such a large file, I'd became to see your posts more often.
Maybe someone else can chime in on this if I'm correct or not.

Hi Dustin,
I'm sorry but I can't reduce the file size of the Pics. smaller so they would be more viewable on a cell phone.
Doing that would reduce the picture size so much that they would be useless for viewing on regular computer screens.
On a regular computer you can zoom in to get a more detailed view.

Just a little more done.
#308 below is 1024 X 786 resolution & File size 262 Kb.
#309 below is the same Pic. with 640 X 480 resolution & a file size of 125 Kb.
Does anyone notice any difference in viewing or enlarging ?
I'm working on the pioneer tools now , a lot of work there.
