That is about right. The salvaged Steel plate for 2.5 ton and 5ton trucks and some M113's for the 5ton trucks too.

You are correct, they were mostly field mods. There are actually a few kits being developed for vehicles in Iraq to convert them to guntrucks. Lessons learned are often forgotten since it is taking so long to harden the trucks in Iraq.

How about reality for real. This is the Satan's Lil Angel being reproduced by some old gun truckers.

Oooooohhhhhh Mannnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! Those pics you provided animal, are cooler than the words I would use to describe 'em!
And the photos of the gent sparay painting the GT in the driveway, warms my cockles!
Thx Dave.
Oh, and the source of that GunTruck pic, as well as a slew of others, are from Mr. Roo's truck archive. It is massive, and is filled with stuff that should make you drool like a newborn puppy animal!! :-)
Of course, most of it is Australian. But as you can appreciate Dave. The 'Boys from down Under' have a special place in our hearts!

The guys building this truck will have finished and on display along with a V-100 armored car, M-52 tractor and lowboy trailer, the gun truck Untouchable, and the Ace of Spades. They all will be on display at our Vietnam Gathering this June 16 to the 20 at Ft. Eustis Va. Museum of Transportation. The real gun truck Eve of Destruction is on permanent display inside the Museum. I have a lot of my projects displayed there also. If you live around this area of the country try to come out and take a look at all the next exhibits. The Museum is opened to the general public.

No the guns are gas operated and cannot fore real ammo. There is a company that reproduces these weapons.

....and it's called 'animal Enterprises, Inc.'
Actually, do you have a link for them? I'd be real curious about how much they cost. I might like to mount one on my family SUV......just to dissuade anybody from cutting me off in traffic.

Hello
I just took a pic of that monster this morning at the chowhall. I saw it on the highway about two weeks ago going to Kuwait. It was nice to see it up close, however, I didn't get a front shot. It has added armor on the doors and some armor over the cab. It's fancy.....

Howdy iroc,
Many thx for the pics! Believe me, you could take a hundred and we'd all be happy about it :-)
I'm also happy that you fella's are taking steps to protect yourselve's over there despite any 'official' rules regarding 'modifications'. I'm curious though. Are your Company Commander's just turning a blind eye to it, or are they also behind you guys on your field 'adjustment's?

Interesting and great to see the initiative being taken!
However, I question the use of that type of truck to modify.... what about that truck's 'real' mission? Where did that go? Wouldn't it have been better to uparmor a 2.5t or 5t as they are much more common to the inventory? (Maybe not to that particular unit?)
Great photo Iroc!
Love the NAPA Auto Parts mud flap!

I think that they are using what they have on hand. I think that they are using a large amount of tractor trailer rigs there so they would have a lot of older tractors in the motor pool. Just my guess.

It's gotta be something like that, but I doubt that the tractors would go on deployment without the trailers. Perhaps the trailer(s) have been damage beyond repair. Maybe this one is a 'one of a kind' conversion anyway, and if so, it's great to see them utilizing what they've got on hand.
God, I love those guys and gals!
